Default Problem on the top Nintendo DS screen.

Hi, I bought a Nintendo DS (not lite) with a broken hinge thinking it just needed a new shell but Ive noticed something strange about the top screen, the colours dont appear correct. On start up instead of a light white back ground which appears on the lower screen, the top screen has a bluish/purplish tinge. If I select the colour in the start up menu, the second row last colour for instance, instead of a light green it appears much darker. If I select the previous colour which is the lightest green, the top screen shows a sort of grubby light brown. Apart from that everything works fine, I thought it might be the screen cable but Ive since changed the case (which involved much tugging on the screen ribbon cable when freeing it from the glue square) but the problem hasn't got worse (no dead lines etc) Does anybody know which component is causing the problem? Thanks

    Probably your screen ribbon cable.

If you think you've got the skills to replace a screen (no soldering required but I've heard that passing the ribbon from the top to the bottom of the DS is tough)

Deal Extreme has good prices and free shipping!

Ok, I'll have a go at changing the cable. I didn't think it would be the cable as I thought there would be other problems with the screen like dead lines.
