Default What is the best Joystick for a PS2?

Hi everyone, I have recently gotten back into gaming after 15 years away. I bought the Namco classics for the PS2 mainly to get Galaga and Pacman... BUT... trying to play them with the standard PS2 controllers is not very easy. Is there any concensus on what joystick controller is the best for the PS2 system for playing old school type games? Thanks for your help... platformgirl.

Depending on what you play, it is totally up to preference.

I would suggest a HRAP2 SA as the best PS2 arcade stick, they're very pricey though.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will buy one of those. It will not work for the Genesis and the SNES. What is the best joystick for those two systems?

I heard the Hori Tekken 5 sticks are good. I've got one myself but haven't taken it out of the box yet, so I have no idea what it's like.

I do have one of the PS1 Hori Teken sticks though (the grey one with yellow buttons). Very solid stick and feels great and obviously compatible with PS2's.

Yeah, the Tekken 5 stick is fantastic, though it might be a little hard to track them down these days. I'd highly recommend it if you can find a couple.

You might check EB/Gamestop for the Tekken 5 sticks. I got both of mine for $30 each IIRC (may have been less, I really can't remember) but it's been a while.

That or the tekken stick either one is the best for fighters or compilations.
