    Default NES Moon Ranger (Black)

I know DP lists Moon Ranger at like $9, but from looking at eBay the BIN's are $60+ and there's nothing in the completed listings. It's cartridge only, the black one from "Bunch Games", front label is good, back label is gone.

Any idea of it's true value?
    Anyone need it?

DP values are rarely accurate, so I don't ever go by them. Ebay Store values are also usually way off, so again, not a good gauge. Completed listings are really the best method for finding a value, but you're right, there aren't any listings right now. My guess would be $5-$20 (I know, big range) since it is a hard game to find, but it's also not particularly good or sought-after. However, I wasn't aware there was a black version, I've only ever seen the blue ones. That would help the value, but then you're missing the back label. Usually that wouldn't be a problem because you could just switch in the back from another cart, but I've never seen any black Bunch Games titles so it would be tricky finding a replacement.

black version is tough one, the guys on nintendoage would best know.
I think a black moon ranger is probably $50, possibly more

the rare color dream black variants get big dollars. I think a black baby boomer went for $200

I need that black Moon Ranger to complete my copy. I'd be willing to give $60+ for it, assuming it's in decent shape (no major label damage or anything like that...pics are a plus, and would set my offer in stone) .

And that black Baby Boomer went for $129, Jeff . Mr. Gimmick (at NA) bought that . However, a black Robodemons has sold for as much as $400 previously, and a black Metal Fighter has fetched $150. The black Moon Ranger isn't nearly as rare as any of those three, though: only around 10-15 of each of the black Baby Boomer and the black Metal Fighter are known to exist, and there are only 2 known black Robodemons.

Edit: Just saw that you said the back label was gone...that will take down the offer a bit. You'd still be virtually guaranteed $45 for it, unless it's in garbage condition or something .

That's insane considering you could easily make your own. It's not unheard of to find unused labels for these games. Just take a blue cart and switch the board into a black cart. Put on your new label and your game increases in value by 20x. NES variant collectors are the craziest collectors in my book.

True, but even a blue cart Moon Ranger in decent shape gets $30-$40. Also, the back labels are virtually impossible to find without switching them from another cart (and considering that cart would have to be black, that'd be another $10 minimum). And the games that unused labels most frequently surface for are the Wisdom Tree games (I think I've only heard of one find including any Color Dreams/Bunch Games labels)...that might be partially because Wisdom Tree is still in business.

Thanks everyone for the info. I'll be going on vacation tomorrow for a week so I don't plan to do anything with it until I get back, but if you need it (mb7241 or anyone else), feel free to PM me and I'll get back to you when I return.
