Ok i'm about to go with this thing of repros
I wanna show you some interesting things and obv i got some questions.:

    let's start:
First of all, i end my hands up the cart on the left
opened it and noticed it had sram
i tought it would will be perfect for monster world repro
and in effect the actual monster world IV pcb (dont worrie, it's a loose cart) is very the same (same chips but obv different serial numbers)

it's a very cheap game so if it works, there s another good option to do MWIV
(the game itself sucks so it's perfect since the other good donor carts for mwiv are games like soleil or land stalker etc)

    ok the question here is:
i need a 2mbyte(16MBit) eprom to do this.
can i use both 16bit/8bit (bus) type right?
    what about 27C160 ?
this one would be good?: http://cgi.ebay.it/ST-27C160-UV-EPRO...item3a51aff1b3

ok let's move on the SNES side.

My first attemp will be a nightmare buster repro
it's a shame the game nevere came out since it kick asses.
    anyway

i will use Hat trick hero 2 since the game (again) sucks
and i found a very great cart in a great shape so since it's compatible (and it's cheap) here the way it goes ^^

tech note: the pcb is a SHVC-1A0N-20 and i found it's the same pcb of Super Pinball : Behind The Mask Pal that Kogami assume to work so i think my assumption it's correct.. feel free to give advice or something
Other games that have that pcb are :
Choumakaimura – sonic blastman -Super Pinball : Behind The Mask Pal – Jurassic Park - Street Fighter 2

My next project will be Fushigi no Dungeon 2: Fuurai No Shiren
the game is awesome and there's an english patch for it

(the pcb is pretty similar to the ones used for mmm seiken densetsu etc..
but has a big 256kbit sram)
    here i need some advice.
i mean.. i have a 4megabyte rom already patched (so no bigger then original)
so if i can't use a tsop (not yet) i can use :
4 27C801 wired togheter with decoder (brrr)
2 27C160 socketed both side of pcb with some rewire to match pin out

it's possible to use 27C160 as described?

to make a very much more clear work i would know if it's possible to use this pcb instead:

another hirom pcb with 2 maskroms (mmm i guess 2megabyte and 1 megabyte for the smaller one)

my idea is to desolder both maskrom and place the 27C160 x 2 with rewire
and swap the sram from the shiren pcb.
    is that possible?
    or i doing it wrong?
    20kb of txt lol
    (sorry) A^_^

...you can't turn a wonder project J cart into crappy mystery dungeon game. Freaking blasphemy.

Shiren the Wanderer is an awesome dungeon crawler of a game BUT Wonder Project J is all kinds of awesome and certainly the wrong cart to be trashing.

And anyway... no one has a guide on how to make those NES boxes? I really wanna make some!!!

    yeah i know.
i bought Wonder Project J (as a loose cart) to do that repro too
since there's a patch for my mothertongue.

After Opened em i faced the problem of eepromz placement so if its possible to do those swap it's great for me at now.
Obv the wonder project j has a common pcb so i guess it's easy to find out a crappy game to do what i want .. but this what i got for the moment
    sorry A^_^

Yeah I read, but considering the repro sells for $25 or so, I think you got a pretty poor deal. Not sure what it costs to make a box, but I certainly hope it's not $35! XD

i sold my other earthbound repro for $49.99 on ebay, so it really only cost me $15 for the box.

i know guys who were making repro boxes and manuals which were $40 each

Like I said, I haven't made one yet so I'm not sure what it would cost to get a professional full-color photocopy done or what the paper board sells for but I just can't imagine it's really that expensive. I'd also say you probably should have done a regular auction on that Earthbound cart as I've seen them go for crazy prices on Ebay, but of course you'd run the risk of having your listing yanked. XD

Kogami i found out a pic you posted on Ultimateconsole (i don't know if its a work of your, but i bet yes ^^)
    anyway:

So basically you put on 4 x 1mbyte eproms (m27c801) on a bj3m-10 that is in fact same pcb of Wonder project (probably differing for sram)
    this seems to confirm that
my idea is to desolder both maskrom and place the 27C160 x 2 with rewire
and swap the sram from the shiren pcb.
    is that possible?
    it's possible.
    Am i wrong?

    About rewiring.
There's something particular you've done with that or is simple rewiring for matching different pinout btween maskrom and epromz?
why you didn't use a decoder to connect the 4 epromz?

oh and plis say something about sram swapping. <3

The photo that you put is not complete (the decoder "74ls139" is missing)

    it's possible.
    Am i wrong?
    I think that yes

this is why the pcb adress only two maskrom right?
(the decoder is needed to adress the other two eprom)

    so .. what if i use the 27c160 x 2 ?
can i place them in the two socket the pcb have with the normal rewiring?

27C160 eproms are DIP42 while normal maskroms are DIP32/DIP36. There are also not enough "pin-compatible" pins in 27C160 to make placing it in the socket and rewiring worthwhile. Once you try it out for yourself, it'll become much clearer.

i don't have to try it
i forgot to count the pin to notice the difference.

so clearly yes.. that's no way to use that.

    I think that yes
so the only way to do that repro is this:
