    Default NES gives blue screen

    Hi all,

I just bought 2 old NES systems off a guy who claimed they both worked. I just tried both of them, and they seem to have exactly the same problem.

The first one gives a blue screen through both the cable output and the AV output. The other one does the same thing with a grey screen. No sound in both cases.

Switching games doesn't seem to change anything.

The power led is on (not blinking), and the NES definitly sends out a signal to my TV, just not the game it would seem.

I would be really greatful if anyone could give me a clue to how to fix the problem.

    Thx in advance,
    Tovi

Needs a good cleaning. I have had the same problem after putting new pins in. It just needs a good cleaning throughout.

Make sure your cartridges are clean too.

The grey flashing means that no cartridge is present. You must clean and restore the connector.

In my experience, a blue or pink flashing instead of the regular gray one means that the PPU is damaged, but certainty a cleaning and connector repair can't hurt.
