Yeah, and although this should be posted in the Emulation Forum, I'll answer the question anyway.
When I went to college, I took my N64 (and later my Gamecube) for party games, because the four of us had to share one tv. I wanted to play my playstation games though, since I was currently in the middle of FF9. I headed to Zophar's Domain, researched the available ones, and decided that ePSXe worked best for me. It takes some tweaking to get it to work, but once you get it working right, and get your plug-ins all installed, the games can look even better than they did on your real PSX. Better grab a good controller though. Might I suggest either the Microsoft Sidewinder or the Gravis Pro?
I don't think there are any psx emulators that can beat Bleem! You have to pay for the official version, I think. But you can find less official versions without problems.

I don't like Bleem!. I tried it first, but I found that, once you got it configured, ePSXe totally destroyed it in both compatability and performance.

Works great on this end. I can no longer use Bleem in Win2k, so this is my only alternative. It runs the games perfectly most of the time....just no special effects (ie: use of 3-d hardward excel) like in bleem. Still works fantastic however..
I just tried the emulator from the above link and it worked on my first try. And with my usb Gamepad Pro (ehich is a PSX knockoff), I was able to configure the emu to use my controller. No problem there.
It's really great because I won't have to run between my PSX and my computer looking up the FAQ of the game.
I checked around at Zorphar site, and there's a few emulator for PSX although I'd be crazy if I ran a NES emulator through my PSX emulator. My 1.4GHz P4 might start to fry. Of course if I get a DC emulator for my PC, run a PSX emulator through DC, and finallt NES emulator through the emulated PSX the light in northern part of North America would start to dim. :lol: :lol: :lol:
(PS I didn't know they made CD-i emulator??)
Where did you get the Gamepad Pro?
Why do I have to download a separate PS1 BIOS ROM? Why didn't they include it in the software?

I've had my Gamepad Pro for years now. Look around at EB, CompUSA or Babagges, they usually have them.
What's the system requirements for ePSXe anyhow?

Part of the Bleem! lawsuit involved the question of whether or not the Bleem! authors copied the BIOS ROM illegally. As I recall, the judge decided that even though the authors reverse engineered the BIOS, it was only to make sure that their replacement BIOS was not infringing on any copyrights. Or something...
I picked up my Gamepad Pro from a local Walmart when they had it on sale for $10. They had like 200 of them on the floor. Might pick up a second one for 2 players game.

You do not need a BIOS rom with the emulator in the link I provided. Anyway, I use N64 joysticks to play PSX games. Strange eh? But they work just so darn well:
