Default How to ID chip in modded PS2

Is there any way to ID what chip a slim PS2 has in it without opening it? There are no outward signs other than a small sticker over one of the screws that says E2G. The seller didn't know anything about it other than it came pre modded from the Phillipines. It does have a Euro power brick.

It seems to work ok, I'm just curious if there may be more to it than booting imports/backups.

I've seen some utility CDs that ID the chip before flashing... can't recall names though sorry.

Most chips have some kind of options menu that you can boot into when you power the system up. With my chip (DMS4 Pro), you have to hold down the R1 button when you turn the system on. With the Matrix Infinity chip, I think you have to hold down circle + triangle buttons.

Just try a bunch of different combination's and you'll eventually find it.

Thanks for the advice guys. I tried a bunch of button combos last night, but never did find any sort of setup menu. I broke down and opened it, but I don't recognize the chip and it doesn't seem to have any id markings on it. My guess is it's just a clone of something else.
