Default Life With PlayStation is out now

Access the Folding@Home channel from the XMB to get the update. Kotaku has additional details. It's pretty cool IMO, though I hope they add more locations soon.

I really wonder how many folks use their PS3(or any game system, for that matter) to look up news and weather.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

Probably the same amount of Wii owners that use the Wii to do the same: 1%

Well...at least it gives you something to do while watching proteins fold, as it "replaces" the main Folding@Home interface.

And the globe is certainly pretty in it's real-time global weather satellite goodness.

It's not an awesome feature or anything, but if you're going to be doing some Folding anyway it at least gives you something to look at and interact with. On an unrelated note: Man did I butcher that title or what? It's all fixed, now (that's what happens when you create a thread at 3:30 AM, I suppose).
