I guess I might as well throw my mystery game up on this thread.

I remember, when I was in 2nd grade (that'd be about 1998) we still used Apple II systems in the classroom. Though the next year the school upgraded and I never saw them again

One of the (3) games that had been bothering me over the years was one of the ones we used to have on our classroom computer, and it was probably something edutainment-ish.

It was where you control a character, in a fun house, mall, or haunted house. There were 3 games in the series in these settings. It played like the original King's Quest. And it's not Hugo's House of Horrors. That's my "most wanted" Apple II game title. I distinctly remember we called the one that took place in a fun house "Bobo's Fun House" but a Google search brings me next to nothing*. If it helps any at all one of the items you could get in the fun house was onion gum, which you had to give to a clown blocking the way to another room.

I believe Bobo's Fun House is the correct title....

*(The only thing of use found with Google, that was on a forum discussing Apple II games)

"Did anyone ever play BoBo's Fun House (I think) on the Apple IIe? It was a weird game set in some kind of clown prison -- you had to escape from the fun house... I don't think I ever beat it -- I hate that fucking clown."

Well I found that this game exists, and I desperately want to play it. I would appreciate if anybody knows what company made this game and perhaps the titles of the other games in the series.
Check my auctions here! I am in the business of finding off-beat things, including video game stuff!

I feel like bumping this. Mystery Game #4 is one of the last few great unsolved mysteries in my mind

Something called Edu-Ware and Rainbow Computing came up on BoingBoing a little while ago and I thought there might be some interesting leads there.

Turns out this disk is fairly famous and not too difficult to find. Unfortunately it does not appear to have the game in question. (There's a short little arrow-key tutorial that lets you control a rabbit using the arrow keys, but no yarn or muddy boots or suchlike.)

So, there was another entertaining story on BoingBoing today about the work of one Mr. 4AM, who has been doing interesting work in cracking ancient Apple ][ games.

Turns out the Internet Archive recently developed quite an interesting collection of ancient Apple ][ software, some of which ostensibly has not previously appeared elsewhere. I finally found Face Flash, which I must have last played when I was four years old!

No sign of my mystery game, but I bet it's in there somewhere.

I'm just gonna go and shuffle this over onto the Computer Gaming sub-forum. As you were, everyone.

I resolved to take my queries to another board, and they have at least borne fruit!

It has been suggested that Game 2 might be Chalice of Mostania.

Game 3 appears to be "Catapult Capers" from MECC's Conquering Ratios and Proportions.

And Game 4 is "Mazes of Rodentia", a component of MECC's Mind Puzzles. (Another game I have long sought, featuring bees, corresponds to "Queen Bee of Menta", the other game on the disk.)

Perhaps InsaneDavid will materialize and confirm Games 2 and 3? (He's still around, right..?)

I'm a glutton for punishment and all that so yes, I'm still here.

Game 3 is absolutely "Catapult Capers" from Conquering Ratios and Proportions. Damn that game pissed me off as a kid because the "work" part to get to the game was so boring.

"Mazes of Rodentia" is also another spectacular find (Game 4), thanks for tracking these down!

"Chalice of Mostania" looks to be Game 2 but I need to take a moment to check it out to be sure.

Additionally I was incorrect in the game title "Special Delivery" - it's actually "Pizza To Go." Both Pizza To Go and Rocket Factory can be found here - ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple...cational/mecc/ - and I'll update the first post in the thread to reflect the new findings.
