I will not buy the versus mode simply because it is something that is essentially on the disk and should have been included with the retail game. This new strategy for nickel and diming people for "DLC" is really starting to piss me off.
I'm with you in principle, but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun. Through DLC shenanigans alone, Capcom seems to be quickly earning the rep that EA has been trying hard to shed as of of late (though charging for quick "unlock it all" codes isn't helping). Honestly though, if you don't have a steady partner to play with, it's probably not all that fun as a free-for-all.
My main complaint lies in the fact that some of the levels are pretty poor when it comes to balance, especially Public Assembly. I've had several instances of the other team getting slightly ahead in Team Survivors and just camping out at the tallest building until the time runs out. It's a very effective strategy, particularly if the other team doesn't have a rifle, but man is it ever cheap (and tacky) as hell. That, and the weapons are wildly unbalanced as far as what sort of points they give you.
This isn't nearly as bad as the costume fiasco in Street Fighter IV or the $5 costumes in Home.
You get a really good game mode, your loss.
Whenever you finish a level, you can check the time in "Chapter Select". From there it'll give you a breakdown per level, per chapter, and if you've completed the game, a total time. You can also view ranks on each difficulty here, or see things like total game time across all games, in the "Records" department.
Resident Evil 5 sucks! I played it. I beat it. Played it some more and I realized this is not a RE game. It's just another fucking FPS! Their hot now, with Gears, Halo ect. ect. It's just like when Grand Theft Auto came out and there was dozens of GTA clones. It's just sad that the leader became a follower. I meen those games are good. But the other 50,000 FPS suck. It also hurts the videogame industry when one type of game rules. I understand it's about money and selling and what people "want" and the "sure thing". But with out taking chances nothing new will ever come. Do you want to play FPS for the rest of ever. I don't, I hate FPS! and love RE. I have and own and have beaten every RE.(except those funky PS2 online ones) On a side note it might have been neat to get a Grand Theft Zombie.......... or Resident Evil Auto. Yeah thats it! Lol!
FUCK FPS!!!
In yo face!
OK 3rd person shooter. You guys are also dodging the main point. Resident Evil was never a shooter. I mean now you can get unlimited ammo!? WTF! Really..... Kinda goes as far from RE as possible. I'm sorry, I love RE games but they strayed way to far with this one. I hope they notice this and in the next one decide to go back to there roots and make it in a big city with a couple big houses or something. And make it survival and scary. Which this game very much lacked and are all very important parts of a RE game. I stick with my opinion. RE5 sucks. I also think everyone is just going with the masses and don't want to say..... yeah it's not a good RE game. But I also think in a few years everyone will be able to step back and say what I'm saying. I'm actually surprised that more people are not?
SHEEP! Buy your DC and have fun.
In yo face!
Yeah.
We're all morons becuase we like RE5. Hasn't every RE had some form of unlimited ammo?
And if Resident Evil wasn't about shooting guns, then I guess I missed the point.
You think because you claim to hate a popular game you're some kind of enlightened holy man of gaming? I'll bet you couldn't wait to hop online and disseminate your insight. You're like the Ray Comfort of video games.
Thanks, I will have fun!
In RE4 you were able to pick up an herb and use it right away.
Why the hell in RE5 do you have to put the herb in your inventory first before you can use it? Bugs the crap out of me!
Also, I don't like the overused interactive cut scenes. I mean why do we have to press X, then A, now press XXXXXXXXXXXX, now wiggle the thumbstick, bull? This is so distracting from watching the cut scenes and following the story.
This is Resident Evil, not friggin' Simon Says.
These 2 things knock off points for me, I give RE5 8/10.
Also, isn't there supposed to be a way to combine the jewels?
I remember in RE4 you could combine jewels into jewelery (like bracelets, etc.) and make them more valuable. Did they get rid of that feature in RE5?
I wasn't able to do it unless I'm missing something.
Major flaw:
Let's say I'm shooting a zombie with my machine gun, and run out of bullets. I then wanna switch to a shotgun (or whatever). I then go to my inventory to switch. It does NOT pause, and I am still getting attacked. I understand it is more realistic this way, but it's still bullshit. Sorry, rant over.
