Default The Brick Knight (Lego Batman)

Picked this up yesterday and am enjoying it more than the Lego Indy game released earlier. Haven't gotten far enough to really comment on the features and variety, but the gameplay is fun. Lots of boss battles too as you go up against the supervillains of Batlore.

    Anyone else with opinions?

Is there better collision than with the PS2 version of Lego Indy?

My girlfriend bought the hell out of this for the Wii. I'm holding out for the 360 version; which I'm happy to see was only $50 as opposed to the usual $60.

I'm playing the PSP version and I agree with you - it's way more fun than Indy.

Star Wars worked so well for me because you got to play as so many iconic characters. Batman works for me because I get to play with all of their gadgets, while still getting to play Batman.

And I loved wandering around the Batcave!

And they used Danny Elfman's score for the music, which is an incredible bonus.

Playing through the 360 version. Enjoying it so far. The Batarang is a great addition and I like the various suits. Using Elfman's songs for the soundtrack was a great call. The partner Ai is as dumb as ever though.

Really? I tried this for DS today and I got irritated within a few minutes. Maybe it's just too cheesy or kid-ish for me but I couldn't even begin to get into it. Didn't like how it controlled or the non-dialogue cinemas or anything. I haven't played any of the other Lego games either though.

I picked this up Tuesday and I'm having a hard time getting into it, even after playing it for a few hours. I'm not sure why, I knew what to expect from the game, so it's not like I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Maybe I'm just not a big Lego person, maybe it's because it would make a better 2 player game, or maybe I'm just aching for Arkham Asylum ro be released and was expecting this to fill my fix until then.

Whatever the case may be, I may just give it to my friends daughter, I'm sure she'll appreciate it more than I am.

Would you say it's better than the Star Wars Lego games?

    Nah, I wouldn't.

I got stuck last night on level 4, which never happened in LSW. Kinda frustrating. I did like the driving level more than the vehicle levels in LSW though. I found the LSW vehicle missions frustrating, but the LB driving level was actually kinda fun.

It's not an evolution in Lego gaming by any means - it's pretty much the same formula. I probably would have liked Indy too if I liked the license as much as I like Batman and Star Wars.

As someone who loved LSW and enjoys Batman it was pretty much a no brainer. Even though Lego Indy is pretty much the same game, I just couldn't get into it.

The kiddish feel and the non-dialog cinemas are a Lego standard. I've grown to dislike a lot of Nintendo games because they seem to refuse to use actual dialog (like Twilight Princess - really, it would have killed them to use actual voices for stuff other than just someone yelling HEY?), but that has never bothered me in these Lego games.

I think using real voice overs would've been a mistake, as part of the charm of the game is me re-enacting the movies with 'my Lego.' Not re-enacting the movies and playing the sound-clips at the same time.

If you're referring to "A Poisonous Appointment," I got stuck too, probably at the same point. Went online to figure out what to do and there are a LOT of folks who are not happy with that. Poor game design and the solution is hardly apparent.

Wow yall have me nervous about purchasing this game now. I'll still pick it up. This will be my first lego video game. Being a huge Batman fan(who isnt) I have to get this. What system are yall playing on? I'll probably get the PS2 version. Other than graphics does anyone know if theres any major differences between the ps2 and 360/ps3?

No love for NES Batman? Hard as hell but I loved it as a kid. Never even got close to the Joker though...

I enjoyed the LEGO STAR WARS games but really didn't care for LEGO INDY...good to hear LEGO BAT is an improvement, though I will probably wait for a price droppage.

This game gets better the further in you get. Maybe it's because I'm partly playing through the game with my little cousin who is 8, but I am really enjoying myself. My cousin loves Batman and is also having a blast when he helps me out. A few of the levels have been too long for him so he'll pass the controller over to me. We finished the hero missions yesterday and started the villain ones today. The villain ones have been more fun so far but I kind of expected that. While Batman/Robin are kind of interchangeable aside from their various suits, many of the villains have moves exclusive to them. The variety is nice.

As of now, about halfway through, my biggest complaint has to be getting stuck. We've resisted the urge to look up answers online so far but there were two or three boss battles where it took me awhile to figure out what to do and I've gotten stuck in a few levels at certain points.

The one thing I miss from Lego Star Wars are all the little Easter Eggs. They were missing from Lego Indy too. Where are the storm trooper in the hot tub type moments? This game is great for kids but the wink wink moments were what made it fun for the adults too.

There were some easter eggs in the DS version of Lego Indy (Indy going to the cave where Luke is hanging upside down, Chewie appearing somewhere else, as well as an Ewok)

Not real voice-overs....I meant text at least Just so I didn't have to use interpretive Lego dance to figure out what the villains are planning :P

    That I'll grant you!

I most certainly am. I looked on GameFAQs but they didn't have anything posted yet. I'll look around.

I'm actually kinda happy it wasn't just me. I'll be angry depending on what I find the solution is.

I will say that getting stuck did allow me to find one of those hidden pieces I might not normally have becuase of how much I was looking around at stuff.

This is unrelated but I have to say that I recently bought LSW: The Complete Saga for the 360 and I have been playing with my 4.5 year old son. He absolutely *loves* playing it with me (and Burnout on his own), and my 2.5 year old pretends he's playing one of the droids with a wireless PS2 controller.

    It's *absolutely* adorable.

I can't help but think that LSW and Burnout are my son's first real games, whereas mine were Combat and Pong. Unreal.
