Default Spore Latest Victim Of Class Action Lawsuit

Well I'm not sure if "victim" is a very appropriate word, but take it for what it is: http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/ne...ction-lawsuit/

You know, video games and lawsuits are starting to go together like peanut butter and chocolate. Except peanut butter and chocolate taste better

For as much that I've read about the DRM situation with the game, it was only a matter of time someone would sue about it.

"Lastest Victim"? Come on now 1 2 P, you can do better than that.

    And yeah, EA will win.

How retarded. I despise bullshit DRM as much as the next guy, but...this? Demand a refund, not 5 million. Jesus.

Also, they need to update their EULA in the next patch.

i'm surprised they only asked for $5 million...if that gets distributed among all of the people who bought the game it would only wind up being pennies per person.

Took the words out of my mouth. Maybe people were so worked up about another "frivolous lawsuit" that they missed the class-action part.

Everyone will get a $5 coupon off of Red Alert 3, and that's that.

exactly. that is exactly the kind of stuff that happens in these cases (even legit ones) - consumers wind up with coupons and the lawyers get a fat fee.

Maybe EA should just provide those affected with pirated versions of Spore without DRM.

If I started this lawsuit I would have demanded EA print this on the back of every box: "Buy our product, get less game and install trojan software, hell nevermind, just pirate the damn thing it's less hassle than this bullshit!".
