This is realy odd. I just picked this game up last weekend for $5, but I haven't played it yet. I found mine in a pawn shop mint complete with soundtrack. What's the gameplay like?
Very traditional JRPG so far but great humour and very fastpaced. Only played 45 mins so far though!
Wait, you must've picked up the PS1 version, no?

Looks cute, I'll look for a copy.
Heard it was somehow inferior to the PS1 version, which confounds me given how awful the PS1 game was. I am interested in seeing how they changed up the combat system, which I guess is totally different?
I won't be paying full price for it (I made that mistake with the PS1 game), but if I see it in the bargain bin, I'll pick it up and give it a shot.

Afraid I can't comment on the changes vs the PS1 version, since I haven't played that one - but some of the changes (new playable characters, etc) are highlighted on the official website.

The PS1 game was so sickeningly sweet it literally made me sick.
Just came out for the DS (hence the "NDS" in my subject line )
I have to admit, it is sooo overly cute but i am really loving it... played a bit further in bed last night and still enjoying it... very lighthearted and easy, so far, which is such a nice change from a lot of other overly violent games i've been playing lately.

I have been sold out of this game pretty much all week at my store. Getting daily shipments of it, too. Just keeps selling.
Bought this for PS1 back in the day. While I loved the art style, I can't say I was a fan of the difficulty level.
One of the few games where the American voice overs didn't annoy the shit out of me, however.
Wonder if this release will drive the price down on the PS1 version even more?

Can anyone tell me if the songs on the DS version are recorded in English? Or is it Japanese with english subtitles? I loved the original but it was too damn easy, I know the battle system is completely different in the remake, but if they removed the English music then I'm going to be... not happy. :/
I was really tempted to buy it, but I've resisted so far. Despite all its flaws, I really had a fun time with the PlayStation version. It's just such a cute, charming game, and normally I'm not into super cutesy anime crap but it's so straightforward and genuine about how it is that it comes off as more endearing than nauseating. I just wish they'd bring over the other games instead. Why bother with a second version of Rhapsody when the entire rest of the series has never left Japan? And the imports are pretty expensive too, so a cheap, easy way to play them would be great, especially with an English localization.
I must say, though, the new art for Rhapsody stinks. The art by Yoshiharu Nomura was very distinct and pretty, but now it's just generic anime. I swear, Nomura was the best artist Nippon Ichi ever had. They went from having all these beautiful full-figured ladies to anorexic lolitas in Disgaea and such. Total downgrade.
