I haven't really had a favorite launch yet. I actually get mad on release days of systems. I don't want to have to wait in lines, draw numbers out of a hat or pay for bundles that include a bunch of crap you don't need for high prices. All I want to do is be able to go into the store and say I want a [insert system here] for retail price. New systems get extremely hyped (as they should) and there are constantly lines in front of stores to wait all night and news stories of people dying because they got robbed of thier system and such. I'd love to buy release day systems, but I don't want to have to jump through hoops just to get them. The psp, dreamcast, nintendo ds....they all had the types of launches that made it easy and exciting to purchase without having to camp out.

    Wow,

Pretty even split. Either people have fond memories and enjoy launches or people avoid them at all cost. Dont worry all, I will be one of the sorry people who have to have it day 1 and will camp to get it.

    Glad to hear everyones feedback!

i waited outside for 3 hours in freezing cold for the wii, and then they said they were sold out,

for about 3 weeks i went every sunday morning and waited somewhere for one,

i never got one, so i gave up on it.

I ended up buying a 360 few months later and i love it.

I remember when i was in elementary school and the dreamcast was coming out, it was in our school newspaper! lol.
    Autobots. Roll out.

I remember trying to buy a Wii at launch... I stood outside target for an hour and found out they handed tickets out before I even got there. No go.

As far as game launches go, I bought Rock Band 2 last month without any hassle. I just walked in KMart and bought one of the two copies they had.

I have never waited in line for a game launch. I think once I waited in a small line of 5 people for Madden 2003. I usually dont even preorder, I find its more fun to just go buy it somewhere or drive around looking for the game you want.
