    Default New ps3 owner-questions

Is it possible to burn games to the Hard drive? Also about life with playstation (folding @ home) does it always run in the back ground or only when I start it up? And will it continue to run while gaming?

    1. you can only "burn" certain games to the HDD, but this is just a time saving feature for loading purposes, you'll always need the disc.

    2. folding at home has to be run like an application and doesn't run in the background.

As eluded to above, some select titles will allow for an optional "install" of large portions of data that would otherwise take longer to load directly into memory from the Blu-Ray disc, these are not "full" installs and will require the disc in the drive.

HOWEVER, on the PSN store you'll find several FULL PS3 games for sale (that are also available on Blu-Ray disc) that you can puchase (for a lower price than retail) and download to your HDD, and they CAN run with no disc.

    • Gran Turismo 5 Prolouge
    • Warhawk
    • Burnout Paradise
