Nekocon 11 (Hampton, VA)

Nekocon 11 is in a few weeks, November 7-9 2008 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. It's a typical, small convention primarily celebrating Japanese culture with animation and gaming. There are a variety of other events including an AMV contest, LARP, cosplay, R/C racing, musical performances, and special guests from the industries. Check it out if you get a chance as there are also some gaming competitions and panels. They get close to 3000 in attendance and more miscellaneous information can be found at the Nekocon Wiki page.

It's been two years since I've had a chance to spend my whole weekend around the convention, as it generally falls on mid-term week. This year however I've preregistered and am good to go. A few friends are already fixed on going. Feel free to reply if you're going or have considered it.

What?! RC Racing! Now that is something new at an Anime convention for me, and sounds awesome that people get together to do it...if only people could start organizing Thursday Airsoft games also...I might have to get on that.

You’ll have a chance to race on a real professional quality track with the worlds top brand R/C cars in the world today- Kyosho. We will be featuring Kyosho’s premiere 1:28 scale car lineup; the Mini-Z and offering two different tracks and events! Details for each event are as follows.
