    depends on the version. the genuine official gameshark will not stop the CD.
    the other variants usually just read the copy protection/region code and stop the CD so you can swap. i had a gameshark that would not boot backups/imports.

    Yeah, the video I'm talking about is this one where he boots a backup using a Gameshark 4.0.

    I've heard it only works with a certain revision and later when people found out about the swap method.

    7501, but I broke the spinning part with the three ball bearings and probably will have to get a new one. >_>

    PS1 or PS2 games?
    The AR in the green case works perfectly for PS1 imports and back-ups on a slim, but if you are looking to play PS2 back-ups, you'll have to get a swap magic set.

    hmmm... if you're interested you could trade it for a discount on a premodded deck. all my units have a multimode 3 modchip and are stress tested and working perfectly for legit games/imports and backups. no swapping required and no patching of isoz cause it bypasses anti-modchip protections.
