Default Opinions Wanted - Is this an Intellivision Pac Man Prototype?

Hello everyone. I am trying to figure out if this is a Pac Man prototype for the Intellivision. I purchased it in a lot of white labeled Intellivision games and it stuck out to me because it is the only white label cart that I have that has the back screwed on. It is screwed on with oversized silver screws that stick out the back about 1/4 inch. When I unscrewed the screws I noticed that the board says "REV. PROTO" at the top. The rest of the board looks pretty standard so I am not sure if it is really a prototype or not. Please help!

I am unable to upload the pics as they are too large but if you want me to send them to you please PM me. Thank you.

Also might want to move this topic to the Prototype specialty forum for better exposure

Ok. Here are the pics. I don't know how to move the topic to the prototype page.

Have you played the game? Noticed any differences between this and the retail cart?

Those are ROM chips, not EPROMs. It's not a prototype.

Indeed, not EPROMS. EPROMS always have a big, clear window in the middle of the chip, such that when they are exposed to intense UV light, they can be blanked and re-used.

I do not have another Pac Man cart to compare it to so I can't tell if it plays differently. I realize that these are not EPROM's but I was kind of confused since the circuit board says Rev. Proto on it and the back is screwed on. Does anyone else have one they could open up and compare it to mine so I can get a second opinion?

A note to Tempest... I don't doubt your knowledge of prototypes at all and I am sure that you are right but I would like to see some other images. Thanks!

I didn't notice the writing on the board there. It *could* be some sort of review copy I suppose, but I'd have to see a production Pac-Man board. Many times review copies contained ROMs instead of EPROMs.

Well, thanks for all of the info. I guess that unless someone has another board they could take a photo of then I will go with the consensus that its just a standard game. Thanks for the help everyone.

A normal board is going to look identical, except for maybe the word "Proto". A photo isn't really going to tell you anything.

Best way to check is to have someone dump it and compare the roms, next best thing is to buy a retail version and compare them.

Well, Intellivision games are few and far between around here. I am just going to throw it on eBay with the lot of white label games I am selling. I appreciate all of the input from everyone. Thanks!
