Hello. I just bought this rechargeable battery pack for my sega nomad. I need to replace the nimh batteries inside. Has anyone done this. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

i tried but after 10 bucks for a nonworking unit and 20 dollars in batteries I cant get it to play. I took out the old batteries and saw the markings and got the batteries that were suggested and they were the same size. Yeah, i hope you luck and if you do find the right combo let me know. I did have to solder some for this so best get the batteries with the tabs.

I thought they were Ni-CD batteries, not Ni-MH. Just buy some Ni-MH rechargeables and a charger.
I'm confused. There are no batteries inside a nomad. There was a plastic case that you place individual batteries in and snap that onto the back of the Nomad.Originally Posted by hogfishmaster

Yeah it is a rechargeable pack that snaps onto the back of the nomad. The pack is so old that the batteries are dead and wont charge. I have heard that you can swap out the rechargeables inside and it will work good as new. Any help out there?
That's what I do, works like a charm.
I think he's talking about the battery pack you could get. It was a rechargeable battery pack that plugged in the AC adaptor port much like they had for the gameboy and probally every other handheld as well.
And I'm pretty sure they were all Ni-Cad...so if you do replace the batteries in the pack make sure you replace them with the right thing....or just use rechargeable AA's in the regular "backpack"
