    Default SNES White XBand Prototype

Anybody know how much it's worth or would be willing to pay for it? If you've never seen one, I'm attaching one of the few that remain. Sorry for the 'ghetto' looking watermark in the middle, I'm on my fiance's laptop and don't have access to Photoshop to make it transparent.

You might get some money for it... you should try the Zsnes board, as there are people there who collect rare snes hardware and investigate how they work.

I'm kind of interested myself, however I have no idea on the value of this item.

The prototype and purple version, both had the card-slot. But I honestly can't remember what it was used for, if anything. It's been that long.

Not to be "that guy" but shouldn't this be in the "What's it Worth" Section?

I'd pay $100 for it, which is about what it is worth.

If anyone has the keyboard, I would pay $150 for the SNES one as well.

The Genesis "clear" Xband prototype is worth around $100 also.

    And you'd be right

    **shimmy to what's it worth**
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Is this a 'prototype' in the sense that it is what the developers used to run test code? Or was this just public unit ver 1.0 used for the initial small releases? Does it have a socketted EPROM, or capabilities to allow direct connect between units? Do you need two of these to run tests?

If this is different than the purple one besides color, I'm interested in buying it as well. And if anyone has a keyboard, I'd definitely be interested in that ... I found the code in the XBand that reads the keyboard (it is more complicated than I expected), and it would be neat to make a SNES terminal like application with the keyboard and modem.

DreamTR, are you saying the keyboard is worth $50 (proto + keyboard = $150) or are you saying the keyboard is $150 by itself (that seems like quite a bit)? Do these really come up enough that a rough value is known, because if so I'd love to get some hints on places to search for hardware like this.

If you put any of this harder to find XBand stuff on ebay, please do let me know.

It is a smart cart reader. You could store credits (and other account info I believe) on it. One XBand employee told me that this was supposed to be useful for BlockBuster renting out units, and people having quite temporary accounts (that they may want again later).

I'm not really a collector, so I don't know how rare things are. But I would be willing to buy one.
Would he be willing to sell a snes xband keyboard?
