Default Digital Press Collector's Guide Cover Pics

OK, here's a question I'm hoping someone can answer. On the DIGITAL PRESS COLLECTOR'S GUIDE ADVANCE EDITION there are several video game character faces depicted on the cover. Can someone name them all and the games from which they hail? Here are my guesses:

FIRST COLUMN (top to bottom): 1. Invader (Space Invaders), 2. Bub (Bust-A-Move), 3. I HAVE NO CLUE!!, 4. Centurion (Altered Beast), 5. Mario (Super Mario World), 6. Strider Hiryu (Strider)

SECOND COLUMN (top to bottom): 1. Bear Hugger (Super Punch Out!!), 2. Pac-Man (Pac Land), 3. Ken (Street Fighter Alpha), 4. Mr. Driller (Mr. Driller), 5. Felicia (Pocket Fighter), 6. Plane (Strikers 1945)

Those are my best guesses. Anyone also know the characters represented on the cover of the SEVENTH EDITION book? Here are my guesses:

FIRST COLUMN (top to bottom): 1. Invader (Space Invaders), 2. I have no clue, 3. I have no clue, 4. I have no clue, 5. Mario (Super Mario Bros.), 6. Frogger ( Frogger).

SECOND COLUMN (top to bottom): 1. I have no clue, 2. Pac-Man (Pac-Man), 3. Red Man (Tron Deadly Discs), 4. Q*Bert (Q*Bert), 5. Demon (Demon Attack), 6. That looks like a Vectrex character. Don't know.

I too have no idea what that third picture is from on the Advance Guide, although I know I've seen it before...

As for the Seventh Edition Guide...

    First Column
    ------------
    2. Could be any ship, shape looks familiar though
    3. I think that's Bubbles from Clu Clu Land
    4. That's from an Odyssey 2 game (KC Munchkin II I think)

    Second Column
    ---------------
    1. Robotron 2084
    6. I think this is from Space War, but I might be wrong.

We had someone come into #vbender a few days ago asking the same thing.

I have no idea about the girl on the Advance guide

On the classic: here's what we came up with

    First column:
    2. Xevious
    3. Ladybug
    4. is definitly KC Munchkin

    Second column:
    6. It's from Minestorm as far as I can tell

Great call on Demon Attack by the way! We were stumped by that one.

Ahh Xevious, that's it. I knew I had seen that before.

I don't know why I thought that was from Clu Clu Land, although they look sort of similar.

    Thanks for the replies guys!

Great call on Xevious! That was killing me.

Ladybug was a mystery to me. Never really played the game (no Colecovision). Would never would have guessed. But I can also see how it could be mistaken for Bubbles (Clu Clu Land)

KC Munchkin! That's it! I was an Atari 2600 kid so I had limited experience with Odyssey2. It's been a long time since I've played either TRON DEADLY DISCS or DEMON ATTACK so I was lucky to pull those out of memory.

Someone on this forum must know who that mystery girl (3rd character, 1st column) is on the Advance Edition! I hope you're reading this! At first I thought it might have been one of the girls from the TurboGrafx-16 game CHEW MAN FU. But those twins look different than this girl on the cover.

You're correct - she's not from Chew Man Fu.

Close, but not close enough for Jeopardy!

Yes, I think you're right. I checked YouTube for a video of Cat Trax and that sprite looks dead on. Dang! The Arcadia 2001?! I was way off when I guessed Demon Attack.

Anyone figure out the mystery girl on the Advance Edition cover? I'm dying to know the answer!

Yep. I'm probably one of the few Arcadia collectors out there. It was also released for the 2600 (as a prototype), but the sprite looks a little different.
