Well the locations section only shows one location, in Mississippi. Not that anything like that would ever open up around the Hollywood area, probably wouldn't be smart since there's a Gamestop literally every 5-10 minutes away, but it would be nice to have a store that sold Pre PS2 games tho.

    Seems pretty high to me...
Super Metroid is a game you'd want. Madden isn't. They could charge $300 for Barbie's Horse Adventure but it wouldn't matter because it's already a game you'd never buy.

By the way, are you going to head over to the mall to check it out? They could use a customer or two, considering the fact that I was the only person in the store. Heh.
I don't know if I'll end up in Boynton this weekend. But it's possible.

I can see where they wouldn't have any classic games from the get-go. I'd like to see what their stock looks like in 6 months though. Classic games would also be the only reason for me to really shop there.

If they're a new store I'd give them a few months before giving them the final call. When you start a company, although ideal, you don't exactly have everything ready or correct right out of the gate. Generally lots of things that need fixing and adjusting. It'd be like reviewing you as a driver during your first 90 days of driving - probably not that great.

Why did they even open if they offer less than Gamestop and at higher prices to boot?
I haven't been to the Boynton Mall in a few years. Looks like I won't be going any time soon.

The Wellington Green Mall has a classic/new game store called Console Game Xchange (CGX). I have been there a few times and it is a waste of time also. High prices on classic games and poor selection.

Not to mention half the time they won't sell you the shit they have. I've posted the story in another thread, but I had a headache of a time trying to buy a TurboGrafx from them last year. In the end I took my gift cards and got an overpriced nomad just so I could be done with them. Haven't been back since.

I had a problem trying to buy a NEO-GEO. It wasn't a great deal but I would rather buy a system in person. Turns out the asking price was more then what it was marked, A lot more. It is probably still there.

I'll be damned if I left a store without getting something I wanted for the price it was marked, I'd have raised hell.

Finally stopped by the store today. Nothing remarkable in stock, but as I said before gotta give the place like 6 months to build up some used games.

There was a girl working behind the counter, who was talking to a customer. They were talking about Sega I guess because I heard her tell the guy that Sega was officially no-more because they had been bought out by Sony. That was a kind of WTF moment for me but I kept my mouth shut.

They also had a copy of Orange box that had been half eaten by somebody's dog. You would think that an idie game store would set themselves apart from Gamestop by being a little pickier with their stock. Common games in shitty condition aren't going to be flying off the shelves any time soon.

Perhaps I'm nit-picking, but their NES games were also stacked one on top of another so they'd be impossible to browse without asking for assistance. Which is sure to turn off your less social customers. Flipping them around so that the titles were at least visable would have been a little more user friendly.

The store itself was nice enough looking. Just blah as some others have mentioned.

Why has alphagamer edited out all his posts?

And... Gorilla Games has plenty of stock now. Old shit is way over priced though. I was there last weekend and was quoted $40 for a cart only Might & Magic NES, a good $15 above the going ebay rate. When I questioned the price I was told that it was a very collectible game. Which I find amusing because anyone who doesn't know what the game is is going to be instantly turned off at the price, and anyone who does know what it is knows that they can get it cheaper.

My friend was interested in Mortal Kombat on gamegear, the dude behind the counter then did a computer seach and when he couldn't find a price told my friend that because it wasn't in the system he couldn't sell it for less than $15. o.O

It looks like Play n Trade is the only reasonable retail outlet for classic games around the west palm area.
