"Judgement Force for Saturn - what originally was to be Streets of Rage 3D and ended up as Fighting Force on the Playstation."

I'm really curious about this. Wasn't it developed by Core Design? I can see how it's like Streets of Rage but was it actually supposed to be Streets of Rage?

EDIT: I feel that I should add that that's still very cool.

Those screenshots for Judgement Force look nice.

I also agree that the site is very interesting. I like to see the evolution of gaming and this particular site focuses on the evolution of particular games.

    Thanks for the post, gameofyou!

I have finally gotten the chance to try this game out, and it is well worth downloading! I was expecting half-completed graphics & dodgy gameplay, but the graphics are great (I've seen worse graphics on released games) and the gameplay is pretty good. There are 4 areas of level one to play through, and also 1 area of level two.

I had always wondered how this game played on Saturn. Sega Saturn Magazine (SSM) had really promoted the game, before it was eventually canceled for the Saturn.

I will definately be contributing some funds to their future prototype releases.

How do you play the game? I downloaded it but can't figure it out. What I mean is, now did you get it to run?

Most people probably use Nero or Alcohol 120% to burn the bin/cue onto a cdr. I used a nice little freeware program called BurnAtOnce, and it worked perfectly! One recommendation: Choose the slowest burning speed that you can (8x or slower), for best results.

Wasn't the first level of this game released in the UK on a compilation demo disk, maybe with a magazine?

Yes, there was an Eidos Sampler demo, containing demos of Tomb Raider, Machinehead, and Fighting Force.
