    It's decent.

Plays like the old game. That's good or bad depending on your viewpoint.

No NFLPA license, so everything's made up. The teams are positioned in their actual NFL cities and are fully editable(including rosters), but it kinda sucks going through EVERYTHING and changing it.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

Game Informer gave it lukewarm ratings (6's or 7s, I think) but their biggest complaint was the lack of NFL affiliation, as Oobgarm said.

I want it but I wish it was an advance game and not a ds. I already had a ds and it's just not for me.

There's gotta be a place where you can download save files with current NFL rosters. Anybody find any?

It's kind of sad a football game is only enjoyable if it has real teams in it. It's like being fun doesn't matter as long as you can play as the Steelers.

You know, this is why I bothered to comment in the first place. The original Tecmo Bowl is probably the only football game I like, and just about every American male from ages 22-35 has fond memories of it. I'd like to think that was because it was a well-made game that could be universally enjoyed regardless of your baseline interest in football. So, my question is--does the game really suck (I doubt it; it's essentially supposed to be Tecmo Bowl, isn't it?) or have expectations of the football-game-playing audience changed?

It's Tecmo Bowl. It seems a bit on the easy side so far. Maybe a touch on the slow side even. I'm having a bit of trouble with the game because everything is a bit small for my eyes.

I dig the fantasy team names they have in the game. Favorite one: LOS ANGELES SUPERCOCKS. I can't make it up. I'll give the game some more play for sure, it'll be a good time killer.

I think that much of the fun of playng it back in the day was playing as your some of your favorite players on your favorite team. This game has much of the nostalgia feel with no real updates to speak of. I am still glad I bought it, you can't go wrong with Tecmo Bowl, after all.

Same here. The DS screens are just too small for me. I'm waiting for the Wii version if it ever comes out.

Ok got me a DS lite on a good deal and went and got this game. So what's the deal with the pass blocking? I can pass to a guy 40 yards down the field and the ball will get about 15-25 yards and the other team can just jump up and slap it out of the air like superman.

Other than that it plays like a mix of tecmo bowl and tecmo super bowl. I do wish the cut screens looked a little better and the halftime show was as long as it use to be.

I have yet to get a onside kick to work in my favor.

EDIT: Just thought about it, whats up with the slowdown when a lot of action on the field?

Apparently you never played Tecmo Super Bowl. That's par for the course. Likewise, if you're Jerry Rice, he will leap into the air like superman and catch the ball while quadruple-covered. I love that game
