I've seen it. It looks pretty good. Even though it was pretty cheesy and obvious it was fan made, it was really cool that they kept the storyline consistent with the game storyline rather than changing it. I thought it was also cool where they had Mega Man teleport down to the stage like he does in the games.
It's sad when a fanmade movie looks far better than a bs hollywood production *cough*DBZ*cough*
There actually isn't a DBZ movie. It's based on Dragonball which blows my mind, by the way, considering that they seem to want to tell the story from the beginning rather than the much more successful followup series.
Frankly, I don't think that fan film is all that impressive. Granted, it's very well done for a fan film but that bar was never set all that high to begin with and to say that it looks better than Dragonball is wishful thinking, I'd say. And this fan film did change the plot in some subtle ways though it isn't anything to complain about.

can't be bothered to type out a full comment, so i'll just repost what i said on dtoid:

still can't tell if this is serious or intentionally trying to be hilarious.
if this is cereal, then pardon me for interrupting the fap-fest, but that was terrible. the 'costumes-by-walmart' production design i can forgive (hey, it's low budget), but the terrible acting and wily's hilarious accent make this a joke.
and no, i'm not some halo-addicted 12-yr old. i grew up on the nes, and the mega man series is one of my favorites, but if you're trying to drag some dramatic story out of it, then you're doing it wrong.
It was alright. I've seen much, much worse.
The guy playing Wiley reminded me of this kind soul:
I actually liked that they tried to jack Scott McNeil's Wily accent from the cartoon. I think it's an appropriate way for Wily to talk even if this actor failed miserably at mimicking the great Scott McNeil.
I was more disappointed in the fact that Dr. Wily looked nothing like Dr. Wily. Where's the crazy white Einstein hair? Surely they had enough budget for a flippin wig?
For having absolutely no budget this looks like it'll be a fun movie. Certainly not a good movie, but a fun, entertaining way to kill some time.
If a god is willing to prevent evil, but not able, then he is not omnipotent. If he is able, but not willing, then he must be malevolent. If he is both willing and able, then why is there evil? If he is neither able or willing then why call him a god?
A) Goku's not from Earth let alone Asia.
B) The Dragonball universe isn't particularly set in the Asia we know.
C) Goku was high school age when he fought Piccolo.
So I don't think the movie is really taking all too many liberties that it wasn't entitled to take.
Besides, this fan film did some wacky things a Hollywood blockbuster probably wouldn't. First, it seems to imply that Roll is older than Rock, which is weird. Second, it cast older actors as Rock and Roll but had them act like they were 12 or something, which was jarring. Go one way or the other but don't stop halfway there.

The woman (?) with the blond wig just looks awful. This isn't a comment on her attractiveness. The wig looks so totally out-of-whack that I can't help but stare and grow very, very sick.

Here's another that was pretty cool.

At the least..I got a good giggle out of it...I couldn't begin to imagine a live-action megaman movie.....mmmm ok at least not one out of Japan.
Some things never die....Give me all your Sega belongings!!!
I have seen enough crappy acting to last a lifetime, so watching this did not bother me at all. I thought it was pretty cool.
I thought the same exact thing when I watched it... the Roll character makes me cringe
Strangely, unlike most however, I like the Wiley character. He seems the most comfortable and loose in front of the camera. Unlike Dr. Light who is gearing up for a monologue everytime he talks.
The real question is... will Protoman (Blues?) make an appearance?
It's true that he never went to school. Though, if you think about it, it isn't too far fetched that he could. After all, Gohan did in DBZ. Really, the whole thing about Goku is that he's uncivilized while the rest of the world is, for all intents and purposes, just like ours albeit with anthropomorphic animals and strange creatures running amok. Most of the criticisms about the movie have to do with the following points.
A) He's too old. Which I've addressed.
B) He's white. Which I've also addressed.
C) The world is too modern. But the DB world really was modern with the exception of Goku and a few of his friends.
The fact that he's in high school seems to me a way of simplifying the plot. In much the same way they seemed to squish the story together in order to make Goku older and Piccolo the villain, they also seemed to take a few steps to eliminate the need to explain why Goku would be living in the middle of nowhere. I guess they decided to just make him a naive teenager with inner power all the while having that classic stupid look on his face, which this actor does very well, mind you. They also seemed to ditch some of the supporting cast. This is the only thing that really bugs me as one thing I always liked about Dragonball is the eclectic cast.
I can't vouch for the quality of the movie, of course. It certainly has the potential to be terrible. But if it is bad it probably won't be because it's too different from the source material. It might be a lot of things but a bastardization it ain't from what I've seen of it thus far. I'd be more inclined to call it "Dragonball abridged" than "Dragonball butchered." I'm going to approach it in much the same way I approached all the non-canon animated movies. They don't really "fit" but they're a fun distraction.
And, to get back to the topic, am I the only person who thinks a real 12 or 13 year old actor could pull off Mega Man? It would be an interesting spin on the classic action movie formula if the guy both kicking ass and getting his ass kicked is a young kid.
