I found a near-mint copy of the Ehrgeiz strategy guide for $6.99 at Replay's.
Do these things sell for very much? I know the game does.
    In Heaven, everything is fine.

Yeah, I am hoping I can get someone to take me to a CL so I can get a Jag, four games, and the box for $25. I'll ask my mom again tomorrow.

I've got one I'm trying to get rid of. Listed it twice on Ebay (at $15 then $10) and nobody wanted it.

I'd be interested in it depending on shipping cost.

It had been about a month and I had Saturday off so I headed out to the flea market. I only really visited one vendor though and as usual, Shortround had the goods. I was there fairly early and began by looking over his NES games - nothing new at all. In fact it's been a bit of an NES drought as of late but that's usually because of him picking up new games while out on the week's flea market circuit, and then my rival back in the central valley buying them up.

He had a couple new Japanese Dreamcast games and told me they were two for $5.00, my usual price. Looking through them they were mostly what I had already seen in weeks previous, although many of the sealed copies of Sonic Adventure and Blue Stinger had disappeared. There was a Japanese copy of House of the Dead 2 I passed up, a sealed Japanese Crazy Taxi which I left, and a couple other games that really didn't stand out. (although I always get a kick out of seeing the Japanese version of what became CART Flag To Flag, as the US release was the first Dreamcast game I ever played, and still one of my favorites) I ended up grabbing four titles that looked interesting or that I had already known.

DC - Get Bass (JPN, complete)
DC - Net de Tennis (JPN, complete)
DC - Sega Rally Championship 2 (JPN, complete)
    DC - Shenmue (JPN, complete)

Yeah, Get Bass is Sega Bass Fishing, Sega Rally 2 and Shenmue had US releases, but they were complete and minty. Sega Rally 2 was a reseal (no spinecard) but I cracked it open there and the spinecard and everything were inside. Net de Tennis is a cutesy 2D sprite driven tennis game. It's a lot of fun, almost like "kawaii pong." Also can anyone tell me what's up with the "SAMPLE" thing on Shenmue? He had another copy that didn't have that, both are identical, so I took the "SAMPLE" one.

Digging through one of his many boxes of random stuff I came across a Densha de Go! train controller for the PlayStation. The gearing lever was bent down and out, with the plastic around the shaft cracked. It still moved fine though so I set it on the table and continued to look. Shorty and his brother (who is a crackup) both said, almost at the same time, that it was a dollar. It's like they wanted to get rid of it and as I was leaving I told him what it was, he had no idea but I told him if he sees any other odd controllers that I would buy them gladly. I ended up bending the shaft back to the proper position (cracking the plastic a bit more) and then glued the plastic in place. There are still cracks in the plastic but it feels and works fine. I also reduced the spring tension while I had the controller open, was a touch too sensitive for me. Further down in the same box I found a dark green replacement Dreamcast shell, complete and unused in box. I've had my main Dreamcast in one of these for years and love it. I know awhile ago they were pulling serious value on eBay as they had become impossible to find - sharp contrast to when they were first for sale. Dunno what I'll do with this one but that it was actually what was in the box was quite a surprise.

PS1 - Densha de Go! controller (JPN)
DC - Replacement shell (dark green) (box not pictured)

I went through his small box of Sega Master System games and picked out a few loose titles. All but Cloud Master are for my brother for Christmas.

    SMS - After Burner
    SMS - Cloud Master
    SMS - Shinobi
SMS - Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap

Upon asking if he had any Atari left (which I know he does) he presented me with a giant cardboard box, dumping it out on the tables. He said $1.00 each, as usual, unless I wanted to buy at least 20 or so, then they would be $0.50 each. I started going through them, tossing the ones I didn't want back in the box. I went through three giant boxes this way, years of dust and light insect remnants floating into the air as each one was dumped out. I ended up picking out 23, about half of them for me (titles I didn't have, variations I didn't have, or cleaner versions of stuff I have) and the others for my oldest younger sister for Christmas. I set her up with one of my Atari 2600 lots over the summer and considering she still plays it, I figured I'd beef up her collection a bit. Nothing rare here but good games just the same.

    VCS - Asteroids (Tele-Games)
    VCS - Atlantis (picture label)
    VCS - Barnstorming
    VCS - Battlezone
    VCS - Berzerk
    VCS - Bowling (picture label)
VCS - Demon Attack (text label)
    VCS - Dragster
    VCS - Galaxian
    VCS - Home Run
    VCS - Ms. Pac-Man
    VCS - Othello
    VCS - Outlaw
    VCS - Pole Position
    VCS - Pole Position
    VCS - RealSports Baseball
    VCS - RealSports Boxing
VCS - Riddle of the Sphinx (picture label)
VCS - Riddle of the Sphinx (picture label)
    VCS - Space Jockey
    VCS - Spider-Man
    VCS - Starmaster
    VCS - Warlords (Tele-Games)

He counted it up and said $27.00 - more than fair. However he gave me back $14.00 change so it was $26.00, which is usually how it goes with him, he always tries to shave a couple more bucks off for me. A pretty decent haul all together, I'll have to say.

Your Mileage May Vary on this. Some Zellers are doing it and are pretty cleaned out. Others are aware and have corrected it. My Zellers was pretty cleared out, but since they were honoring it, I was able to price match at Wal-Mart with the flyer and my receipts. Here's my walmart receipts for some possible leverage in getting the deal:

In my experience, Japanese "SAMPLE" items are basically full, not for resale versions. I have several "SAMPLE" SNK soundtracks and they all say that on the inner ring of the disc, or they have a sticker over the UPC code on the back cover or the OBI card (to prevent said resale.)

Also, I hate Nesmaster right now.
