Sorry but i dont think a release date has been set for this game yet But dude that sounds amazing i love Final fantasy
I wouldn't say it's like Mortal Kombat, because it's definently not a standard one-on-one fighter, there's a lot of vidoes on Youtube if you want to see the game in action, and it certainly looks cool.
As far as a release date, Square's press release that announced the game said it would be out mid year 2009, so expect it sometime in the summer. Here's a link to the press release on Kotaku if anyone is interested, SE also has the English site up, but it currently only shows the logo.

Nice then it should be out pretty soon thanks for your help. So do you know if there is actually going too be a story to it or is it going too be more like super smash bro's and just do random fight sequence?
well thats pretty cool i just hope they have wifi multiplayer

I say a lot of strange things things to myself, but I can honestly say I have never responded to myself openly, on a message board...
Oh wait, sorry, wrong thread.

well that kind of sucks. although i do have a couple friends that im sure will be playing so ill just do adhoc with them. What about you, you getting the game too Nionel?
It's the same person using two forum accounts, as is evident in this thread.
So, that is the state of being a Final Fantasy fan these days huh? You have to talk to yourself on the internets?
As far as a Final Fantasy fighter goes, I think I learned enough about Square fighters from Ehrgeiz or something-or-other... Although, Bushido Blade was rather fun for awhile. Meh.

Anyways, to all the misinformed, even though Dissidia Final Fantasy is ad-hoc only, you can still play the game online with whoever you want as long as both you and the other person own a PS3.

Anyways. There are about 120 games that are compatible in Japan with the ad-hoc party working. This pretty much makes these ad-hoc only games play through your PS3 through a program downloadable through the Japan PSN. If any of you know of Xlink Kai, but it's official so it works much better, however it's only in beta and it's currently only downloadable from the Japan PSN. Like I said before though, this is a killer app that will make all the fans of the PSP and PS3 love those systems even more. The only reason I think the PS3 is better than the 360 is because the pending release of this in the US where all my games owned, not just my imports, will be able to be played through ad-hoc party(you can also use the Japan PSN ad-hoc party even if you live in the US.)
