    I'd like to keep that a secret. Don't let the reserve discourage you from bidding though. Even if it isn't met, I might just sell it to the highest bidder anyway.

    What's the purpose of keeping the reserve a secret? Studies show it harms you more than it helps you:

    I mean, I just feel stupid bidding a small amount above the current price when the reserve could be $2000. So why bother bidding at all?

    And why should I risk selling something for far below its value? Putting reserves on $5 Pokemon cards is one thing, but I have hundreds of dollars invested into these games and I want to make sure I get back what I put into them.

    If there were completed auctions I could compare this one to, I'd feel more comfortable without a reserve since I'd have a good idea what they'd sell for. But there isn't and the way the economy is now, bidding could be all over the place on these. I'm just protecting myself. You have to look at the sellers perspective too.

    I don't mean setting a reserve, there's nothing wrong with that, I mean not DISCLOSING the reserve, or simply starting the bidding at what your reserve would have been.
