I can always find a quick match in Halo 2--as a matter-of-fact, I prefer its' matchmaking times to Halo 3, where there can be 200,000 people online-or-what-not and I'll sit for up to 8 minutes for them to find a match for me.

I used to play Far Cry Instincts and Predator online about a year ago and sometimes would get lucky enough to have 16-player matches. I always seem to find people online in Conker, but they're fairly bratty. Battlefronts 1 and 2 are spotty, Doom is a ghost town.

And here I am with all these un-used 2 month trials, and original Xbox and no 360

I started an Xbox Live account on my original Xbox in May 2008--I'm not sure if it's still possible or not.

I just played Star Wars: Republic Commando for the first time tonight. After playing single player, I connected online to download the free content and to see if anyone else was online. There was actually two games going on, a death match and team death match game. That was surprising.

It's still possible, but the 360 codes don't work to activate an account on the xbox1. You either need to signup through the dash or call up microsoft directly and they'll create the account using a 360 code.

I have recently played Halo 2, and it was quick and easy to find games. There are definatley people playing this and Star Wars Battlefront II still.

I just got into a single player offline game of PSO and I haven't had a Xbox Live account for over two years. It did ask for the password for your gamertag though.

It'll make for a nice collectible if it ever becomes completely unplayable.

No it was Socom that kept the PS2 online service alive.

Maybe you don't need an active account, but you have to have the Live equipment.

Last night after playing single player for Star Wars: Republic Commando I got on live and noticed two active games. I jumped in the one with the most players (6 or so) and we had a nice session. Of course, I kept getting pwned at first but eventually I started getting some kills.

I hopped on Crimson Skies a few months ago and there were a few players. 1 or 2 at times, and one time we had a 5 on 5 match or so it was cool. First time playing it =)

Crimson Skies was the first xbox live game I ever played (it was a pack-in with my crystal xbox). I got a real kick out of it. I really had my ass handed to me online though.

We need to make a list of all the original Xbox games that DP members still play so we can all meet up online and kill each other.....or do co-op

Just got Street Fighter Anniv. today and found a match in 3rd strike within a minute or two.

There is also a handful of us still playing Guilty Gear X2 Reload. Usually 5 minutes is about all I have to wait until someone joins.

I played Star Wars: Jedi Knight Jedi Academy (or whatever its called) about a year ago and remember there being a few players online. I got my ass handed to me though, but I was amazed there were still people playing it online.

Yes, that is off topic. Wait a minute, were you serious?

I can still find players on this game as well. There are never that many but it doesn't matter because this has always been one of the most funest(yes I just made that up) games I've played online.

I loved Crimson Skies - I played it religiously for a couple years and was consistently ranked in the top 50 - some weeks the top 10 - for months... Awesome on-line game when you could fill the ranks...

Time to necrobump this baby because the answer to the OP's query is YES!!!

Xbox Live on OG Xbox does lives again!

Insignia Live is now live in "closed" beta form, but they are currently still sending out invites. If you have a modded system, pretty easy to set it up. Unmodded you have options as well!
