Default Mad Catz Street Fighter iv fighter pad

I was checking the decent review on these on IGN. Now I'm wondering if I should pick up the 360 version instead of the PS3 and maybe one of these if the D pad will work alot better then the 360 controller. I do however have a DOA fighting sick so I could easily use that just as well I'm sure. They are also available for the PS3.
    They look pretty cool.

    IGN gave them a 8.7

They do look great! I have a old Ryu pad they releassed with the anniversary collection that I am currently using with SSFII Turbo, but man these look even better.

The only thing is these pads seem really pricey at $45 a piece. Is it just me or are controllers way too exspensive these days?

Are there more characters or just the five pictured? I might just have to get one as I can't imagine playing SF4 and doing good at all with a standard controller.

I've been hearing so many good things about these controllers (mainly the improved D-pad) that I bought one yesterday (Ryu, 360 version). They don't ship until February 20th or so. I think the upcoming Sega Genesis collection might benefit the most from this controller. SF4 shouldn't be too bad either. I guess I'll find out first hand at the end of February.

Also: These are $39.99 at Amazon...and...you can pick which style you want. Gamestop is just selling them randomly. They won't guarantee you a particular character....very lame.

    I can't believe I'm excited over a Madcatz product.

That's what everyone is saying but considering they put this together...

...it appears 7th time's a charm. Here we have a company genuinely looking to turn its image around. And from what I've seen, despite being someone who swore off Mad Catz years ago, they're doing a hell of a job.

I understand there is a lot of hate towards past Mad Catz products. I hope you guys pick this up (and the arcade sticks) and you can see how much Mad Catz has changed.

These are still rechargable wireless pads right? These would be GREAT for some of the PSN games.....or 360 Live games....

I think I'm getting the $80 arcade stick. The higher end one looks nice but I can't bring myself to spend $150 on a controller. SFIV should be a lot of fun, though.

I've been reading through your thread on Shoryuken.com. Good stuff, MarkMan. And Mad Catz just earned back my trust. Let me ask you, though, since I've been hearing conflicting reports. Will HAPP sticks and buttons fit in this? Thanks.

I also ordered a TE from AlternativeDVD.com. Are they reputable? I only ordered from them because they were the only ones offering a preorder at the time but I'll gladly cancel the order and find it somewhere else if there's doubt I'll get the item.

I'm planning on getting the regular FightStick (I, too, can't bring myself to buy the $150 one :P). It looks impressive, and will be the first MadCatz product I've bought since, well, the 90's lol.

I wouldn't mind picking up a controller for 360 and PS3. FYI, you can use Saturn USB controllers with Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD on PS3. I wonder if it's compatible with SFIV too.

It would seem that those same joystick are £70/£150 in the UK going by Amazon. That takes the piss. I could have imported a HRAP3 for £95, but even that is rediculous (especially when £40 of that is shipping!).

New Net City panel, 2 x Sanwa JLF sticks, 12 x 30mm buttons, 2 x 24mm buttons, 2 x Sixaxis pads (plus wire and soldering) and a custom wooden box is much cheaper and a lot better.

My pre-order for the TE in the UK is for £120, but yeah it's serious dough. I hope all the reviews are on the money heh...

I went back and forth over it for a while but what convinced me to take the plunge is knowing that it'll be more than just a stick for the Xbox 360. There is no way I'd have spent this kind of money for a 360 controller but knowing that I can mod the hell out of it to work on the PS3 and perhaps the PSX/PS2, GCN/Wii, Xbox 1, and perhaps even Saturn and Dreamcast, I'll have the only stick I'll ever need so it would be worth springing for the best. The only problem is finding a convenient way to put all that functionality in there.

You can mod the 360 TE stick to play on other consoles? Where did you hear this? I read the articles but didn't see anything about getting it to work on PS3, PS2, etc.

Best Buy had the 360 stick pre-orders up this morning (PS3 were back ordered pretty fast). Maybe you should try there. They seem a little more reliable.

Also...don't forget that the 360 HRAP is coming soon to Amazon. No more $75 shipping fees from Play Asia.

The sticks are made to be relatively easy to mod for dual-PCB action, provided you've got the proper "donor" PCB. Usually a PS1 dual shock.

So if you want something to be used on all those, I suggest modding it so that it has the original PCB, a PS1 dual shock pcb, and get a PS1 to whatever converter for various systems. I know they make converters for damn near everything when it comes to PS controllers - Saturn, Dreamcast, PS3, Xbox, Gamecube/Wii, 3DO, I think even Genesis and SNES...

Really? that sucks. I'm interested in the $80.00 joystick for the 360.

Will it be cheaper than the ps3 version since we 360 users won't have wireless.

Why would they restrict wireless to the ps3 version?
