    Default Boxed NES game genie

I may have a line on one and don't know what to offer. I'm told it has its box and instructions and a code book.

I got one on here a around a year ago for $20 shipped. It was brand new in the box. I can't imagine it's went up much from that. So yeah, 10-15 bucks shipped.

    Ok thanks

quick question (as an NES noob), how does this work in a toaster nes? It looks like it would stick out of the unit and don't you need to push the cart into the machine for it to work?

As long as the cart is fully connected to the game genie it should be fine. Even in the front loaders the game is not actually coming in contact with anything other than the game genie.

Yeah, the cartridge sticks out. You're supposed to put it in diagonally, until the door closes down on an indent on the Game Genie.

Really? I always just shoved it in there until it wouldn't go any further.

I found that it really has to be at a certain angle when you insert it into the system. It doesn't say that in the manual, but it works every time, while I have to re-seat it if I do it any other way.

I actually had three and while all brought up the game genie menu screen, only one of them worked properly. So I sold the other two. But the one I kept works everytime as soon as I stick it in, no matter what angle. I had to figet around with the other ones too much.

I used a Game Genie once, afterwards the connector in my system felt looser to me. I never used one again.

Yeah, we used to refer to NES Game Genies as "Ron Jeremys" when I was a kid.

    Okay, we actually didn't.

    But I will now!
