My local FYE went out of business a couple years ago, and was replaced by a Forever 21. >_<
I saw on CAG that they were having a good clearance on last gen games though.
At my local FYE, the last-gen rack is all sports and kids crap. Some of the guys in GameStop (other side of the mall) were joking about how FYE found an unopened shipment of Mario Kart 64 or something, within the last year. Their staff isn't exactly the greatest, which I don't think helps at all. I'd like to add that I'm tired of hearing them ask if they can help me, so much so that I once actually responded, "no, you don't carry anything that I'm looking for." They argued with me, before checking stock and cheerfully reminding of how narrow their selection is.
Yesterday, I picked up Final Fantasy II (PSP) for $10 at K-Mart. They also had FF6 (GBA), but it was still marked $30. It was odd, because that was the only GBA game left in the glass case, while everything else was kids stuff and on an aisle end. Tonight I finally found Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for both platforms (retail price), and decided to go 360 for the higher resolution support.

I'm actually playing thru Stranglehold now. It's a fun little game thats as close to a next gen Max Payne as I'm going to get for awhile atleast.
For the FYE's in malls they have no choice. In order to be able to pay the high rent of being a mall tenant/store you have to have ridiculous prices. This also explains why most malls here in Maryland no longer have music stores. They have all been closing over the last five years and the reason is the double edge sword: have high prices to afford your rent/have high prices and scare off most customers.

$2 for both.
For some reason, the DC Magazine disc was in a case for the first DC web browser. This was one of the two DC Magazine demos that I got for free a couple weekends ago that turned out to be too damaged to play. This was the one I was the most bummed about as it includes Sega Swirl, which I wanted to check out. That being said, I'm glad to finally have a working copy (in fact, I just played Sega Swirl prior to making this post).
As I've posted before, FYE usually isn't worth it, but if I'm near one for some reason and have some time to kill, I'll look around anyways. Most of their prices are indeed bad, but every now and then I'll manage to make a decent find (for example, Lego Star Wars II for the Gamecube for $7.99 used, and Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX for the Dreamcast for 25 cents).

I must say, their USED CD prices are reasonable. I've picked up tons of stuff for under $5. I've noticed that used prices on "current mainstream" stuff is usually only dollars below the new prices, but anything remotely under the radar is pretty decent. I paid maybe $8 for Men at Work's Business as Usual, and that's about as high as I've gone.
FYE is sort of the last bastion of being able to find older sealed games. I realize that most of the stock is mostly sports games (going back as far as 2001 as Kitsune said) but I was able to get Parappa the Rapper there a few years back still sealed. My FYE still has gameboy color games. The place is sort of an anomoly, and they don't really lower their prices on games, so some have been on the same shelf for the past ten years.
I got
final fantasy mystic quest snes 10$
mechwarrior snes 5.00$
timeslip snes 2.00$
adventures of dr franken snes 3.00$
I just had the best find of my life today.
I picked up the following stuff:
Atari XEGS with keyboard
Atari XE Light Gun
Atari 130XE Computer
Atari Touch Tablet
Atari Jaguar
Atari 1030 Modem
Atari XF551 Disk Drive
Atari 1050 Disk Drive and
a Gemstick controller
at the amazing low price of.... FREE!!!
I saw an ad on Craigslist for free Atari stuff, said he had some computer stuff.
I went to pick it up and he said he found more stuff (Jaguar/ Light Gun/ Touch Tablet).
Too bad he couldn't find any games or anything for it. But for everything being free, I can't complain
EDIT: There were also SIO cables and power supplies in the box, but none for the Jaguar. What power supply do I need for that? Can I just get one at Radio Shack or what?
