Target has the demo listed for 9.99 , I hate to pay for a demo disc, but this one has some really good demos on it. I may pick up a few extra

I hope they give them out for free at Gamestop or EB.
I wonder if Nintendo wants to charge for them or if the stores are behind the charging.
Is this the disk given out at E3, if so, I have one coming from ebay soon

The GC Demo disc is for sale at all stores, including Gamestop & EB for $9.99. But if you buy a new Cube, it's included for free with one of the other titles given away.
Yep, this is the same disk I got from a person who went to E-3.Originally Posted by Starcade

Neat demo... one of the best, if not the best demo disk ever made. Viewtiful Joe demo is pretty decent sized and makes me drool for the game. too bad it keeps getting delayed.
Speaking of the free game with gamecube thing, Starting June 23, the Game Boy Player is going to be added to the list, so you'll be able to choose from one of 4 games or the game boy player free with your gamecube purchase.Originally Posted by Brisco
Just an FYI.
No charlie, including shipping, it was $12.00, oh yea, did I forget to mention, it also came with a GBA:SP carrying case (you had to come in first place against 7 others to get in a match of MCD) and a MCD T-shirt (XL), beat that deal!
UPDATE: oops, I guess i was thinking wrong, this is what I won, I confused the Metroid DVD with this demo..oops.

Oy... well, the T-shirt is neat (but about two sizes too big for me).
Yea, I just plan to hang it up, maybe use as trade bait sometime.
I kind of upset that the disk looks and feels (menu wise) like a Kiosk disk with some GBA downloads on it.
I'm holding on to my recipt and waiting for the Class action Suit against Target for selling a game marked not for resale.
Once we all have our copies we should start email nintendo all upset and pissed that target made us pay $10 for it.
The two downloadable games on there are kind of neat too. There's a nice port of Dr. Mario, as well as a bit of the Wario Ware game. Cool stuff! I picked up the demo and Evolution Worlds at Best Buy yesterday.
I've played the demo WAY more than that P.O.S. Evolution Worlds game. If I knew Evolution was SUCH a bad game, I never would have spent the $15 for it. Oh well. The demo rocks!!!

NES, SNES, & Gameboy Collector
Every store I've stopped at in my area has some excuse for not selling the demo discs. EB says that "We got word straight from Nintendo that they can only be given away with systems" and Target "never got them in."
So dsullo, if you pick up any extra, I may just have to get one from you. I really want to try Viewtiful Joe.

I picked up a few
I am going back this morning to grab a few more
at gamestop they are $9.99 for sale, unless buying a new system. I have no clue whats supposed to be done with them, sell or free. Interesting.

Holy crap. It's been a while.
I bought this at Target a full week ago. Game of the disc = Viewtiful Joe! Awesome, fresh and fun presentation, Capcom! Think Comix Zone meets the Matrix (bullet-time slowdown moves and the concept works excellently!!!).
Billy Hatcher is high quality but didn't really excite me. Soul Calibur 2 gets more addicting the more I play it! You can only be 2 characters in SC2, but you *do* get to see Link's demonstration moves if you let the title screen idle for a while. I haven't tried to download the GBA games yet. Sonic Dx looks weird to me; it's the same game as the DC version but with the frame rate bumped up to a sometimes-60fps. Some of the demo Sonic Dx levels are more obviously improved in frame rate than others (Tails' snowboarding is a lot less choppy than the DC version, IMO).
That's my 2 cents. It was worth $10 to me just to try out Viewtiful Joe and SC2 and to see what Sonic Dx looks like. The movies didn't do much for me, although I liked seeing Rogue Squadron III (the film is obviously of an unfinished build of the game though).
For those who have played and enjoyed Viewtiful Joe. Can you explain the game to me. I played it and I am confused. the screen blows up to a fight scene and I seem to be hitting the opponent and breaking him to pieces , then he comes back or there is multiple enemies to fight. I just did not get it.
It is a beatem-up. At first you just low & high kick/punch. You also jump to reach platforms or pickups.
But some enemies are too fast to use normal attacks. Then you must press the (L or R?) trigger to slow down those fast enemies, such as the spinning enemies. When you slow everything down, you can see their individual frames of animation and can get in some kicks & hits to defeat them. Each enemy takes several good hits to defeat. Yes, cogs & stuff seem to fly out of the enemies as you hit them.
The other Trigger speeds everything up as opposed to slowing everything down. Note too that propellor blades slow down during the slowdown 'bullet time', so if you jump on a floating platform and press the trigger, it drops since the propellors aren't moving quickly enough any more.
great, thanks for the info. that helps . I will give it a try tonight
