Still Around...Still Gamin'...
I hate them both equally.
Earl, largely because big fat surfer dudes are win.
This is a timely poll, since I just started playing Toejam and Earl III yesterday. I went straight for Toejam.

Toejam here, just because I always played as him when I used to play the original game with one of my friends.

Earl is the best.

Toejam. I have T&E III for the XBox but can't play it since it isn't backwards compatible with the 360. I saw a few videos of the opening and hearing those voices made me cringe....
Mika: Where are you taking me, Gillian?
Gillian: To look at videos on YouTube...
Mika: *sigh* No more videos of a drunk Harry dancing with a dead Snatcher...
Giliian: Nope, it's better...Its LiquidPolicenauts YouTube Videos!
Gillian: And after that, you should also visit
The Policenauts Paradise and Snatcher Shrine
Always Toejam.... he's just quicker. Easier to avoid the nerd herd and boogeyman.

I've only played the first one, and I usually used Toejam on single player, because he walked a lot faster than Earl. If there were two players, I'd pick Earl, because he had funnier expressions.

Toejam - it's more useful to be able to run away from your opponents than having an extended lifebar, since most opponents damage so much that extra energy isn't useful.
I'll go with Zebbe and the Red Warrior here: Toejam is faster, so escaping is easier. Beign a fat guy myself, I gotta say that Earl looks cooler, though.

Toejam, Earl is too slow.
Earl, cause he's a big fat guy.
