The collectors edition is WAY better than the Xbox version. And I normally buy multi releases on the Xbox....

I was at Lamestop last night, trying to decide which version to get. I have never had as much trouble deciding on a multiplatform version as I did yesterday. I prefer Xbox Live to the PSN and have more friends playing there so I finally chose the 360 version. I get home and I'm psyched and ready for some sweet street fightin' goodness... And then I notice they cut my game case with a boxcutter. DAMN IT!!! So I jumped back in my truck and went back to town to get a copy without a cut in it. I know it might seem petty but if I'm going to pay 65 bucks for a game then I want it to be mint and pristine. I just wish the register jockeys would keep their blades away from our games. My buddy picked up his preorder after me at the same store and they tried to give him a mutilated copy as well. I had given him the heads up so he wouldn't leave the store without realizing it like I did.

Actually, per people who had received theirs early, neither collector's edition is very good. The figures included are low quality in both and the anime movie is very poorly done. The fact that it's on Blu Ray on PS3 doesn't really matter when the product itself is crap. Given those facts, I would probably go with the one where more people will be playing and which has a more stable on-line environment. In this case, I think 360 wins.

Except for the god awful D-pad. Here's to hoping those Mad Catz pads are any good...

Yes, alot of people are playing this on PSN. One reason is that the xbox controller sucks, and all the arcade sticks and 6 button controllers are sold out. 2nd, is that people who are more serious about fighting games, like people who enter EVO tournaments, would rather play it on PS3 cause it is easier to make a custom arcade stick., and PS3 is the platform the game will be played on in EVO.

That's why I dont get why gamestop is using the 360 version for the tournament because if you win round 3 you get a bid for evo .

Out of stock pads id have to pick the ps3 but the shoulder buttons suck having to use the l2 and r2 is a real cramper.

Both console versions have their valid reasons. I'd actually give my edge to the PS3 one due to A: No additional payment for being able to play online, B: Better default controller, and C: In regards to the Collector's Edition, I'd prefer the Ryu figure instead of the C. Viper one meself. Sadly, since it's still probably going to be a damn long while before I get a PS3 (likely not until next Christmas), I sprung for the 360 version. A roughly equal amount of my friends went for the 360 and PS3 versions; some are also waiting for the PC one to be released.

I have both systems and I got the 360 version. I like it so far, but I do want a better controller. I'm going to have Live anyway so it's not like I'm paying for it just to play Street Fighter. I was going to get the collector's edition until an off-duty clerk opened his up while I was at Gamestop and showed me the bonus goodies. The figure was a big disappointment to me. Everything I had seen so far lead me to believe that it would be fairly big and the detail level looked awesome in the pics. When he pulled Crimson Viper out it honestly looked like a happy meal toy. At that point I opted for the regular version and decided to put that extra 20 bucks towards either a SFIV pad or the tournament joystick. Why Microsoft won't get their head out of their collective ass and make a controller with a better D-pad is beyond me... Does anyone know if that green European one with the improved D-pad will work on an American 360? If so, I may be doing some importing

Well I have both versions and suprisingly found more lag free matches on the PSN over XBL, coupled with a better D-Pad and its hard to not pick the PS3 version unless you dont have any PSN friends

So the Ryu figure sucks too? Well I think the Bluray is still a bonus, you can throw it on ebay and at least have a larger potential buying audience. You could probably get your $20 right there. I don't think there would be much interest in an Xbox 360 only video disc.
