JVC X'EYE Power supply.
I bought an Xeye on ebay but I dont think the picture showed the proper power supply so, in case it isnt, I need alternatives. The closest power supply I found was a Sega CD one at 9v, 1.2amps. Unfortunately that shortchanges in both voltage and amperage.

You can use a ps1 (smaller system model) power supply on the XEYE. I got a xeye without power supply and I use a ps1 one.
Go to left coast games/sega parts.com and order the sega cdx power supply, its identical in specs and works great.

As has been said, that's incorrect, better than using a Genesis 2 adapter, but still incorrect. As has also been said, finding a CDX adapter is much easier than finding an X'Eye adapter (since JVC Service stopped selling them years ago) and they are essentially the same.

At 9v and 1.2 amps wouldnt the Sega CD power supply be better than the PS1 and Genesis 2 adaptors?

It's still not correct. 9v-10v @ at least 1.5A. There are actually a ton of threads about this, many of which I've posted in (and asked the same question years ago).
7.5 volts is fine, it runs thru a voltage regulator to drop it down to 5 anyway. it wont hurt it at all, it will just run cooler. the amps are what you need to worry about

When I purchased a "Sega CDX power supply" from sega-parts, they sent me a Model 2 Genesis one. I don't seem to have any problems using it with my CDX, but with my X'Eye it causes issues.
Just get one from Radio Shack. They should have a 9v, 1.5a power supply. The voltage being a little off shouldn't hurt it, I don't think. I do know that the amps can be higher, just not lower.
I wish we still had RadioShack up here in Canada. Now we have some lame store called 'The Source' run by the late Circuit City.

That looks like it would be just the thing. You just have to get the right tip to physically fit it in the system (they should have a selection of tips at the store). I don't think you're going to find a 9.5v supply anywhere. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not an expert, but I don't think the voltage difference matters.
You can also always chop the end off a Genesis 2 power supply since it has the proper tip and wire it to a proper power supply. Even though I found a JVC X'Eye power supply, the plug was so screwed up I had to do just that with a Genesis 2 cable.
Knowing me I probably will drag the system into the store to select the proper tip... lol.

If you have one, just take a Genny 2 PS in with you and match it up. However most multi adapters have a selection of interchangeable tips.

I got the XEYE today in the mail, and, as I thought, it has the wrong power adaptor. I tested it for a short time with the one it came with, the genesis side works fine but the CD side doesnt do much but show the screen saying to "Put the disk onto the turntable". (Even when there is a disk) Either A, the thing is busted. Or B, its just the lack of power issue because of said power supply. The one supplied is 10v .85a.
Upon further searching, it says 'DOOR OPEN'... When its closed.

The X'Eye I had a while ago had this problem. The lens may be dirty. Try cleaning it.
