I know persona 4 just came out but I just beat it and now I sound like a junkie needing his fix heh. So is it in development?

PS3 please.
Personally, I'd rather have a new Shin Megami Tensei release (like a sequel to Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga...even thought those stories are "done".). Give the Persona series a break.
However, the reality is Atlus is in the business to make money and Persona is their cash cow right now.

There are rumors of one in development for the DS.
I personally want a Shin Megami Tensei 4. There was an 11 year break between SMT2 on the Super Famicom and SMT3 on the PS2.
Hopefully there won't be such a long wait this time!
In Heaven, everything is fine.
Atlus seems to publish their MegaTen games in waves, letting the different branches of the series lay unused for a while and then revisiting them when they have some fresh concepts. They'll probably take a break from Persona (and Devil Summoner) for a few years. My guess is that the next big release will be a true Shin Megami Tensei title, i.e. a sequel to Nocturne.
Shin Megami Tensei 4 for PS3 was mentioned a long time ago, I believe. We haven't heard anything about it for quite a while, though, so hopefully they'll announced something soon.
At the rate ATLUS is making the Persona games, they're probably going to end up surpassing the FF series in numbers pretty soon.
I'd rather not see another Persona game for awhile. I'd like for them to actually make a game in the series as good as SMT3 was, but it probably won't happen in awhile. Don't get me wrong though. DDS1, 2, Persona 3, and Persona 4 were amazing games, but they're not as good as SMT3 was.
I,ve heard that Atlus is taking a huge dive, so new games will be fewer if the company even survives.
Bury me with my money......*dies*
I don't have anything to add, but the front of the school I teach at looks exactly like Geokken (or however you spell it) High, with the gate and the cherry blossoms floating down...
ATLUS USA has had a faithful following of wannabe hardcore gamers ever since Disgaea was localized. They localize more than they've ever localized before now days, most of it being shovelware with emo anime characters and the hype through all of this crap is through the roof.
There are a couple good games that they release over here now, but most of it would be considered shovelware if it was released by a no name company.
Maybe I used the term emo too loosely. I mean extremely generic anime characters which all the emo RPG wannabe hardcore eat up. I don't need to list any specific titles because it's pretty much "every title."
I'd go so far as calling more than half of their releases nowdays shovelware. I'm waiting for the release of Crimson Gem Saga/Astonishia Story 2. That game looks to be really good.
Now there's a slew of generalizations you don't often hear associated with one another. I can't even wrap my heard around what that's suppose to mean besides something "bad".
I also strongly disagree that their games are shovel-ware, although I'm positive that's just another negative buzzword that you choose regardless of it's actual meaning. There's a very strong difference between the likes of Ys, Summon Night, Etrian Odyssey, Growlanser, etc. to say Carnival Games or Ninja Bread Man.
It's one thing to say that you don't care for a certain art style or entire genre of game, but another entirely to suggest that all post-Disgaea Atlus releases are low budget, rush jobs, thrown out on the shelves to make a quick buck off the ill-informed consumer. Because that is exactly what shovel-ware games are.
Here we go again.
Atlus has been a presence, and had a 'faithful following' in the US, ever since Ogre Battle, Persona, and Guilty Gear. That's PS1 era. Many people discovered them for the first time with Disgaea, but so what?
A brief list of quality Atlus games from the last year or two: Etrian Odyssey 1 and 2, Rondo of Swords, Persona 3 and 4, the Trauma Center games, Yggdra Union, Arcana Heart, Odin Sphere, Contact, Summon Knight DS, Tokyo Beat Down... That's a pretty good list of of good games for ANY publisher. There are a couple good games that they release over here now, but most of it would be considered shovelware if it was released by a no name company.
Myself, I'm all for Shin Megami Tensei 4. I'd love a next gen Megaten sequel.
What utter rubbish... I thought I was at another forum by mistake for a moment there. If it were not for Daria and G-Boobie I may have been completely fooled.
As long as Atlus keeps stuff up like Etrian, Dark Spire, the Sting and Vanillaware releases they will be one of the top recent publishers in my book.
Can't wait for Knight in the Nightmare and Muramasa. Dark Spire makes me giddy... Yeah, I guess they got nothing coming out.
Also, someone with a Final Fantasy derived handle should be careful when casting dispersions about RPG character designs...
