Default Jr. Pac-man for Atari 7800 now has new pictures and a video up

The owner of Atariage received the atari 7800 version of Jr. Pac-man from the owner of "Jr. Pac-man prototype".

Albert is the owner of Atariage. He posted the pictures and the video from the thread link I posted.

Albert posted new pictures of the games. The new pictures show that it is was not done by photoshop. The pictures are found on http://www.atariage.com/forums/index...post&p=1712195 .

The video is found at http://www.atariage.com/forums/index...post&p=1712292 . You need to use a QuickTime player to play the video though.

This proof shows Jr. Pac-man for the Atari 7800 is one out of 2 things.

1.) The game is a prototype despite the owner not having a clue about it existence in his dad's home and and took bad pictures in terms of quality.

2.) The game is a homebrew 7800 game. This possible since the Atari 7800 homebrew scene has a person that is known to make homebrew Pac-man games like Super-Pac-man and Pac-man Collection. All of us April Fool's Day is getting close.

The only way we know for sure is what happens on April Fool's Day.

Looks pretty good to me! I wonder how this came about, though. Were the Tramiels too cheap to pay for the license? Was there a bad bug that never got squashed that prevented its release? Did the Atari 2600 version come out first, not sell as well as they'd hoped, and scare Atari off going into production on the 7800 version? There's so many mysteries about this game. Either that, or it's a homebrew and they're pulling our legs again (like Burgertime/Beef Drop and Q*Bert).

I'd be pretty surprised if Albert or PacManPlus Bob DeCrescenzo, who wrote Pac-Man Collection for 7800 did it for a joke. Bob has been working on Super Pac-Man for 7800, I know that. I actually would rather it was a homebrew, because it would be complete then!

I can't wait to find out the story behind this one.

I'm gonna play 2600 Turbo over and over to bide my time.

Who on earth would go through all the trouble of writing a homebrew game on a classic system just for a funny hoax?

I actually don't care if its a hoax or not, if the game is complete, works, and gets released, that's outstanding!

Burgertime (which the homebrewer later renamed to Beef Drop because of copyright problems) and Q*Bert (which I guess they renamed also, I haven't kept up with that one since I sucked at Q*Bert). Them wacky Atari Age fellers love to pull our legs around April Fools Day.

On the flipside, MIA, Sirius, and Plutos were all branded April Fool's Jokes up until they were all proved to be legitimate.

Turns out it is a homebrew/April Fool's from Mr. Pac-Man himself, Bob Decrescenzo.
