I made that up, I'm just ruffling feathers now.

I just don't see why if we agreed on a price, it was such a wrong thing too do. it's not like I had a gun to his head.

I think we're getting caught up too much in the seller's circumstances. Common sense would have told him that he could have sold that lot on Craigs List within a day for $200 or $220, rather than accepting a lowball offer. He probably could have even traded it in to a local used game store and have gotten an amount comparable or higher than what Sourday gave him. If the amount was genuinely for rent, I don't really get how half the amount is going to help the guy.

Once you look past the circumstances of the seller, I think we're all guilty of taking advantage of sellers by not disclosing the genuine value of what we buy. All of us that have bought super rare games from people at garage sales or flea markets for pocket change.... I know someone here bought an Earthbound at a yard sale for 25 cents. If that seller later found out it was worth $100, I bet they would have felt like complete shit. Those of you that pick up $1.99 rare PSX RPGs from thrift stores that actually put the money towards helping people... I bet you're not tossing an extra $20 bill in their donation box when you pick up those games, right?

I mean, has anyone here actually given a seller MORE than what they ask for, for some rare games they're selling, just to "be fair?" Possibly, but I doubt by any kind of really significant amount. At least this guy was aware of the actual value of his stuff, and he elected to sell it at that price anyways.

Thanks for the understanding, I didn't mean to upset anyone or poke fun at the job loss situation.

Lets just get back to posting the deals

People, lowballs happen. Is it worth more than that? Without question. The individual took the 145 offered to him for whatever reason. That is out of our control. Would anyone be saying dick move if he hadn't said the seller was moving the stuff for rent money, or that his original asking was 275? Probably not.

What if it was for a bunch of valuable NES/SNES games that he did that for? Is that better?

You all have spoken your piece, leave it be and lets move on to more deals.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Apparently the NES games that Value Village has gotten in have been selling well. Cart and game prices had been raised $1-$2 over last week. Still not bad though.

    Alien Syndrome CIB $3.90
    NES Cleaning Kit CIB $1.90
Trolls On Adventure Island (w/ original cardboard AVE dust jacket) $3.10 (R6!)
Dr. Mario $3.90 with Dust Sleeve... not great but probably would have been pricer elsewhere
    Mortal Kombat 3 Guide $1.25

I was expecting both to be loose so seeing full package for SSFT was quite a pleasent surprise.

Sealed Intec Power Station for GBA. Includes a rechargable battery and a charging station with storage slots for 6 carts. Looks like somebody tried to open it with a lighter on the upper left corner. 3.99 at GW the other day.

I bought my NES Caltron at a flea for $3... all his games were $4 but he told me that one was cheaper since it was bootleg. Did I feel bad? Did I offer him more? No. It's a find... if he finds out it was worth more later that's HIS problem and he should have done more research.

Congrats on the Wii find... hope it isn't 'hot'.

OT, someone came into the store today and sold me a complete R.O.B. with the spinner, attachments, and 2 gyros. Even had the lower half of the styrofoam from the box. Picked it all up for $20. Passed on his grungy NES that he wanted $20 for... too many sitting in the closet already lol

    Some decent finds...

One booth had two tubs full of CDs. It had a copy of DOA2 for the Dreamcast, several bootleg PS1 games, rap music, Hindu / Bollywood stuff (?!), Catholic music (?!?!), and some Saturn games.

I picked up the Marky Mark CD (DON'T JUDGE ME), Fallout 2 and the Ecco CD from there. The Metal Gear games were from another booth... and $6 for the pair. I'm selling or trading that Metal Gear, I already have a copy. But that VR missions? SCORE.

The NHL and Gran Turismo don't include games, the guy that sold me the Metal Gear games gave the cases (and manuals) to me after I asked if he had any other PS1 games. I dug around his booth a bit and stumbled onto a copy of Link's Crossbow Training (disc in sleeve with instructions). I didn't want it (I don't have a Wii), so I gave it to him before I left, telling him I found it hidden in a box and that he could probably sell it for a bit more money. He was speechless but I just said thanks and left. I figured I owed the guy for the free cases and the VR missions.

A while later I went back to the booth where I got the Marky Mark CD and picked up Oblivion (new) for $2 and Blazing Dragons for $1. And I got the new Office:Mac 2004 for $3 (asking price). Not a bad day.

    Default My Daily Craigslist Deals

Today I received a package from a lady that sent me 3 N64 game. She listed an add in Craigslist for a grage sale, I asked her if she would ship the games to me if I paid shipping, she aggreed. I bought Mario Kart, Yoshi Story, and Mario Party 3. Paid 17.00 total, I thought they were just that carts, we never really spoke about it. I just assumed since they we so cheap that they were.

They are all complete and in pretty good condition too

my second Craigslist deal today was a boxed Sega Saturn. I paid 20.00 for it, It works great tried it out at a friends house. It is missing the video cable, if any one has 1 let me know.

I know I got a pretty good deal on the N64 games. What about the Saturn, I don't know too much about them. I see them sell complete for 50.00 on Ebay, so I guess I couldn't of done too bad.
