Post Bethesda Announces New Fallout Game For 2010 [Slashdot]

On Monday Bethesda announced a new title in the popular Fallout series called New Vegas, set for release sometime in 2010. It's planned for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. They said it wasn't a sequel to the highly-acclaimed Fallout 3, but rather a brand new game set in the same universe, though they confirmed that it will be similar in style to Fallout 3. The new game will be developed by Obsidian Entertainment, a studio containing members of the original Fallout team, which Bethesda's Pete Hines discussed in an interview with Shacknews. The Fallout series also made headlines earlier this week when Bethesda trademarked the name for TV and film.

Sigh... poor fallout your series will soon be just as watered down as sonic the hedgehog. I'm happy about original fallout team members on the new game, but when will they learn game franchises suck as movies and only dilute the brand.

Fallout 3 just wasn't my bag (at least, it doesn't seem to be); seemed too much like Oblivion with dirt and rust. This should be an entirely different affair, however. I like how Bethesda has tried so hard to be loyal to the fanbase, and this is proof they're continuing to try (although they'll still cop shit for it). I'll forgive "Oblivion with rust" to an extent if they bring back the Fallout feel.

Also, I guess this means that Interplay (and especially Interplay Fallout) is dead, and also that there'll still be bugs.

Well I'm looking forward to this one as I enjoyed the Fallout 3 a great deal (heck I'm still replaying it and owned it on ps3 and 360). I do want the game to have less bugs though, freezing, audio cutting in and out, not to mention some other bugs still plague the game exp.
