Question The Top-Ten Rarest Saturn Games

I was going to do a little write-up on the rarest (not most expensive) Saturn games.
In order to get it right, I'd like some input from fellow collectors out there. My knowledge is currently limited to a few RPGs and imports, not nearly worthy enough for a good list.

    Here's what I need:

    -Name
    -Region
-How many were produced (if possible)

A little bit of history on each game would be good as well.

    Thanks!

Not a bad idea...doing the write-up, I mean. Not the "having DP members do it all for you" part.

Lost & Found needs to come off that list since it was discovered that despite Oldergames' claims, it was never licensed and therefore is just a hobbyist release. For Europe, I would agree with Atlantis and also add Keio 2 and Deep Fear. For US stuff, Daytona CCE Netlink is probably the rarest, followed by the last releases which included Burning Rangers, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and HOTD.

I owned two of those-PDS and battle action. Paid 180 and 130 respectively. Would love to have owned taramarou but it was going for 400-has to be the most expensive saturn game I would imagine.

I agree lost and found is only a hobbyist release so it shouldn't count-they're always rare because of low demand/print runs on demand

I just want some input to make the list better. Otherwise, it would be a top-ten list of what everybody "thinks" is rare.
I'm not asking anybody to do any work for me: I figured a lot of you may know more than I do. That wouldn't require research on anybody's part if they already knew, right?
Now, I could look up stuff on my own, which I have, but general rarity doesn't pop up that often on regular places like Wikipedia and such.
When you deal with places such as that, price becomes more of an issue than real rarity.

    Thanks, man!
Do you know anybody (or source) that has a good amount of production count information?
DP's the only place I have ever found print run details.

    Smile RARIEST Sega Saturn Games

    FYI

The following is based on my years of experience as a Sega Saturn USA NTSC Software Collector and Gamer.

I state that the following, in order of HARD-TO-ACQUIRE ( Rareness ) games/discs for the Sega Sature are:

    1. Sega Screams Volume 2 - demo

    2. On The Road Bootleg Sampler - demo

    1. RAYMAN Playable Game Preview - a demo

    3. DAYTONA USA C.C.E. Net Link Edition

** 4, 5 and 6. Lost & Found Series, Volumes 1 (only 25 copies produced), Volume 2 and Volume 3 (only 50 copies of each produced).

    See my article at http://blog.videogamepricecharts.com...+Collecting%29

** Though Lost & Found Software was produced in the good ole USA, I don't technically classify it as Offically released NTSC USA software because you need a MODDED Sega Saturn to view the 7 discs and play the games that are on them.

    * For that reason the L & F Series probably is most sought after by Collectors than by Sega Saturn gameplayers.

    4. Panzer Dragoon Saga

IF anyone knows different then this, please contact me, for I would like to know.

Dicknixon, there are lots of games like that but they technically are not released games.

Here's a page worth looking at from Racketboy.

The main article isn't all-inclusive (focuses more on US releases), but there are a lot of comments that mention most of the rare titles for the system, including some of the super rare promos (which aren't games at all). Oh, but not much actual print information (that stuff is harder to find).

    I also found this: http://www.risingstuff.com/forums/vi...c.php?f=7&t=33

Again nothing on actual print numbers, and some of the price numbers are wildly inaccurate (2300 for Krazy Ivan?), but there's a ton of info, if you can manage to sift through what's actually relevant.

That's a great source of information. I've actually known about Racket Boy for a while now, so I have no idea how that page got by me.
    Thanks for pointing it out.

Read this thread I just made about an unreleased Saturn game being sold.

    http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=139047

Definitely a 10 on the rarity scale imo.

Why are you posting this here and anywhere for that matter when the consensus seems to be that this was just an error in the listing? There are tons of catalogs and listings on unreleased games out there and it doesn't mean that they actually exist or are available for sale.

The Rarest Saturn game in existence is "Eyeful Home" a japanese exclusive which was basically a virtual tour of japanese rental properties. Only 50 or less copies were produced.

I actually have one of those Rayman preview discs. I bought it for $4.99 at EB Games at the Mall of America while I was on vacation with my family (I still have the price tag on it). I don't know why I bought it to be honest. It was weird that they were even selling demos, but that seemed to be the practice back then.

Sorry to bump this old thread but I just posted a Sega Screams demo disc Volume 2 on ebay if anyone was looking to pick one up. I had no clue it was so rare.
