    Try here: http://www.hardoff.co.jp/ or here: http://www.momo-oh.com/. They can be picked up at Hard Off for 500yen untested and console-only, or 2000-4000yen boxed and tested. Momotaro has them for anywhere from 1000yen unboxed and console-only to 8000 new(!) and in-complete-in box. All Su-Famis are tested at Momotaro.

    Seriously though, the prices are all over the board depending on any number of factors. What are the prices like at import shops wherever it is you are in Canada?

    You can always get a North American systems, take pliers to the little tabs on the inside. It will play Japanese games.

    That would be cheaper, but then he wouldn't have an actual Super Famicom case. He's still just have the system with the Super Nintendo covering.
