    There's a Quake Trilogy?

I like the games, but they're probably the worst candidates I can think of to try and assemble into any kind of coherent trilogy. They're completely unrelated to one another except in name.

    You mean this?

Meh. I own Quake 4 DVD Edition, that includes Quake II plus both official expansions. And I got the games separately too so I could have the soundtrack playing while I shoot at people. (The versions included in the DVD edition do not include the CD audio )

The first game was seminal - man, Quake World and all the macros and mods you could do to it was pretty watershed for how customizable and "open form" video games could be. Quake III Arena was great fun that rightfully just focussed on the multi-player aspect. Q2 will always be the black sheep, more flash than fun, and they ruined the balance of the gun aresenal by making the rocket launcher such a sluggish and useless weapon. I still fire up the old Quake for a run with whomevers still kicking in the Gamespy servers. DM3 for the win.

I actually looked this package up recently. I didn't see it until about two years ago, but it's apparently older. My first shooter was Quake II, and I've probably been judging everything since then by that as my standard (it's action-shooter perfection for me). Always wanted Quake I, and finally found it last week for $1, so I've been enjoying that in its 3dfx Glide glory. During the heyday of Q3, I was engrossed in UT99 (MULTIPLAYER action-shooter perfection). I played the demo of Q3 years later, and wasn't all that impressed with the gameplay. Loved the engine and its derivatives though.

How much did you pay for the box? I remember it was $20 at GameStop when I saw it, but it was only available for maybe a month.
