Default Xbox 360 controller with good Dpad?

Does anybody make an Xbox 360 controller with a good Dpad? I remember purchasing a Hori controller for the Gamecube for this purpose, and I was wondering if there was anything similar for the Xbox 360. I just bought Raiden Fighter Aces and realized that I probably don't want to use the joystick or the Dpad on the controller.

The Red ones are supposed to be much better... I haven't tried one myself but a few people have said so.

Not really that I know of. There is an official limited edition wireless version that came out in Europe last year (its all green) that was deigned to be played with FIFA, Winning Eleven and the like, but the modifications MS did really only helped for diagonal movement and not better sensing in general (ie, sucks for fighting and puzzle games still). It's also super expensive, to get one too.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

There are a couple choices these days for good dpad on the 360…

    Hori EX Turbo

    and

    Mad Catz fight pad

or… you could get an arcade stick

For Xbox Live Arcade games they do.

I've got the Street Fighter IV control pad, and I have to say the d-pad on it is awesome - I rarely get a bad directional press - even on games designed for 4 way control.

    I like the SF4's d pad quite a bit.

Stay away from Hori's VF/DOA arcade stick unless its strictly for games that don't need precision and need all 8 directions. Doing something like navigating the maze in Pac-Man is near impossible with the thing, but it works good for things like Xevious.

The Street Fighter IV fightpads are excellent for pad players. I used to use it, until I converted to a stick.

I just got rid of my DOA4 stick last month after upgrading to a SFIV TE stick. True, it was a nightmare trying to play Pac-Man or Rally-X with it. But to it's credit, the SFIV TE stick is just as bad though. Any 8-way stick will play the same in games like that.

The movements in Xevious aren't as precise, so it's not as noticeable. I still prefer the TE stick over the Hori's though. Just wish it had a 4-way mode for the old arcade games.

I like the SFIV TE Stick ^_^

Although that may be because it was the stick that converted me from pad to stick >_>

The Saitek and Hori pads look nice, where are those available?

Did MadCatz ever fill orders for the SFIV TE stick and reopen orders? Last I checked a few months back, a ton of preorders weren't even filled. Hoping to get in on a future production run of it if it ever happens again.
