Default *SOLD* Nintendo 64 "Millennium 2000" rare controller mint

If you enjoy collecting rare hardware, check out these three limited edition controllers (Millennium 2000, gold Nintendo Power 100, and Donkey Kong 64 "banana bunch") available only through Nintendo Power magazine.

I am selling one of each of these starting with the Millennium 2000 controller. It is by far the rarest of them all since it was only available as a one-time contest prize, and is in "never been played" condition -- I doubt there are many this nice left. My auction is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=190315640474.

I'm not in a huge hurry to sell it, but I will be relisting it until it sells and reducing the price gradually if needed. I've seen 3 of these over the last 8 years (I usually keep an email alert on it) and the last one was listed for $250 (and sold with a $200 best offer) even with a scratch on the front, which this one does not have.

Compared to the $400 complete-mint-boxed SNES Fun 'N Games that sold last week (search completed listings), I think this is rarer and a better deal hehe. Hope you enjoyed reading about these controllers in any case!

I would just like to ask if it's never played, why are the cords tied with a rubber instead of twist ties? Thanks!

    Good question; I'll clarify.

I scored this controller in 2005 (see my post history here on DP where I was searching for one). I'm the second owner of this controller and have never played it for those four years. The original owner told me he had never played it either and shipped it in the original plastic bag (see pic). He may have opened it at some point (or, he could have lied and have run marathon Goldeneye sessions with it) -- but the condition is quite minty and looks new. There are subtle details like the way the dpad has a very fine, almost velvety texture, to the lack of any marks on the (more delicate than usual) metallic finish, to the absence of tiny surface abrasions and slight smoothing on the surfaces and buttons where you'd expect to find them first. However, I should have clarified that I have never played it but cannot verify the original owner's claim outside of my visual examination. I'll downgrade it's condition to 9.9/10 to be safer. I believe any discerning eye would be very happy with its appearance.

    Hope that helps!

Sorry, Ace! And, Nesmaster went ahead and took the DK64 and gold NP100 too. :-)

I'll be listing more N64 items later and will post them here on DP also:

"Horipad Mini" N64 controller - compact controller with Gamecube-style joystick JPN import (pic1) (pic2) (pic3) - mine is solid black

Tetris 64 aka "Bio Tetris" with bio-sensor (it clips on to your earlobe, measures your heartbeat, and adjusts the game faster or slower) JPN import (wikipedia link)

Teal and clear white two-tone N64 controller - JPN import (pic) - like the one on the left
