April 18, 2009 - Skunkboard Rev 2 orders mailed out. Nearly 170 orders fullfilled as of May 2, 2009. Skunkboard Rev 2 has two 4 mb memory banks (can hold 2 rom images selectable at startup), or combine the two banks to run one 6 mb bank, and has the ability to run ram based programs as well (BJL like) and other abilities as a development board.

April 20, 2009 - Jagware announced the production of the Compact Flash adaptors had begun. Capibilities of the CF adaptor allow for more RAM, much faster and more reliable media than the JagCD, additional processing power, USB connection to a PC, support for mouse and keyboard, and non-buggy networking. (Paraphrase of Zerosquare's comment on April 22, 2009) (This listed as the latest news on the CF Adaptor. When the CF Adaptor is sold that date will replace this entry.)

May 2, 2009 - Mad Bodies (cart) released by 3DSSS/Force Design with an MSRP of $80. Terance Williams aka "The Graphics Man" was the driving force behind the game. This had been the most eagerly anticipated Jaguar release in some time!

May 4, 2009 - Orion_ released his "Orion_'s Jaguar Collection" for FREE! It's a collection of homebrew games he's developed over the years. It was made available online via encrypted Jaguar CD image download.

May 10, 2009 - Belboz released Windows 2K/XP/VISTA Compatible Dev Tools. This will greatly help in the developement of Jaguar HomeBrew games in the coming years.

May 14, 2009 - Atari Jaguar Hockey (essentially BHH CD..) was released for the Jaguar CD exclusively at Jaguar Sector II by Jay Smith, with an MSRP of $35.

May 23, 2009 - JetPac released by D-Bug via download for free.

I got excited, seeing the link for Apeshit. I remember reading about that one in GameFan Magazine. Ocean were planning on putting that one out if I recall. There were only two screenshots in that article, so I got my hopes up that you found a prototype or got your hands on some footage. What a shock, it's the same dang photographs from the magazine, made into a movie! Talk about a letdown.

You're right about that, I never heard of a homebrew Maxx game in development. And it was nice to see what little bit of Ultimate Brain Games was developed. I've also got the beta version of Black Ice/White Noise, but I've never gotten around to playing it, so it was nice to see that too. Along with the bits of the "Un-Making Of" documentary. What's totally surprising is that the comments on the Jaguar stuff is pretty much positive, rather than stupid kids crapping on the machine for no reason.

Ya people are cool about the Jag for the most part on YouTube. I think the AVGN review got a lot of people interested in checking it out. The AVGN was actually pretty fair to the Jag, not bashing it that badly or calling it one of the worst systems ever etc. It's a mediocre system overall imo. A small to moderate sized library of games. A good chunk of good, bad and mediocre games. Interesting peripherals, add-ons etc. A lively community still, homebrews. It's just a neat system. Oh and then there's the fact that it was Atari's last system...

I think that's the heart of the appeal of the Jaguar and Dreamcast, they were their parent company's last consoles. I wonder, if the Panther and Jaguar had bogged down during development and never made it into production, would the Lynx have such a fervent and loyal following? I'd love to see more homebrew development on the Lynx, in the same way the Dreamcast has been supported after its hardware demise.

I need to get a Lynx one of these days.. Something that I think would be really cool, but probably never happen. A JagLynx. Similar to Super GameBoy for the SNES. Would be so cool to play Lynx games on the Jag.

Thank you! I looked into doing the 3DO and 32X, but even those have so many videos on YouTube, that it would be a daunting task! And the Saturn, oh man... It would be awesome, but the list would be INSANELY long. Though an idea just popped into my head.

I suppose if I just found the best video for each particular game, and only had one link for each game in the list. That might be doable...

Sounds like a great idea! Would you compile just the US released games or the Japanese as well? The Sega Saturn's Japanese library is without a doubt superb.

This thread got me in the mood to get one off eBay.

I got a model 1 with some games for $30 something. I'm looking to get a model 2 and more games now. :P Man I am just buying too much stuff lately.. :P I really want to play Lynx games on my tv, as I'm not very fond of handhelds. I like playing my games on a bigger screen. I have seen a couple people made prototypes where they could play Lynx games on a tv..

Ya that would be awesome to play Jag AvP using the Lynx as you say.
