Well, this was waiting for me when I got home:

Office XP Professional with Publisher (OEM version) - I got that for a buck on the day I left on vacation. Heh. Gonna sell it here since eBay won't let me post it. And, Vandal Hearts is from Goozex. I forgot to set myself on vacation mode so I ended up getting it while I was away. The disc is scuffed and the manual is worn but it's in decent shape either way.

Cart on the left: The Pinball Of The Dead! I got that for $5. I was originally planning on selling it on eBay since I already have the box and manual for it (I got it in one of DreamTR's $20 boxes a while back) but the prices seem to have tanked, so I'll keep it for myself. The CD... well, it's been at the flea market for about a month and a half now, and it kept catching my eye. I didn't expect to still see it there so I grabbed it. It needs a buffing but it should play fine. I have no idea what it is, but we'll see. It was $1.

Alien Vs Predator Gold Edition was $3 at one of my usual haunts. They had some Dreamcast games too (Gauntlet Legends, Mortal Kombat Gold Hot!New) but I didn't pick 'em up because I ran out of money. I may go back for 'em tomorrow. Hardcore ECW Revolution and Surfin' Sam were found in another booth among a pile of porn VCDs. o_O Surfin' Sam IS a porn game, I think - I grabbed it for MobyGames, honest! I thought the guy on the cover was Strong Guy - er, Gabriel Knight from GK2!

Finally, a booth that had a ton of Dreamcast jump packs for sale before I left still had them today! But it was closed. I'm going there tomorrow to see if I can negotiate a lower price for 'em so I can sell them on eBay.

A visit to a Goodwill yielded some good finds:

    Star Craft - $1.99
Star Craft Brood War Expansion set - $2.99
No One Lives Forever - $1.99
    INXS - Kick (a great album btw) - $3.99

    and most unexpectedly:

    Bonk's Adventure - $2.99
    Bonk's Revenge - $2.99
    Turbo Express - $5.99

The games and system are minty. The system works great, has one dead pixel (not noticeable during play), but unfortunately has the audio problem (very low volume).

This Goodwill location also had an NES Toploader bundle: System, hookups, two dogbone controllers and a stack of around 6-8 games for $49. I passed on it, however.

While the garage sales where weak, it still was an awesome week, mostly for the non-gaming finds.

    - Namco Museum: Volume 3 (PSX. Non-GH in near mint condition): $2
    - .hack//GU: Reminisce (PS2. In case for .hack//SIGN: Volume 6): $3

I may already have that particular .hack game, but considering that pawn shop sells all PS2 games for a flat rate of $10, it's quite a good deal (Because somebody stuck it in the case for a DVD, they took it in and sold it as such). Also, that copy of Namco Museum is in better shape than the old Greatest Hits copy I bought when the local Gamestop opened years ago.

    Non-gaming items:
    - 9 Star Trek VHS tapes (8 Original Series episodes and 1 TNG episode): $1 each
    - Disney's The Black Cauldron (VHS. Used in near mint condition): $1
    - .hack//Legend of the Twilight: Volume 1 (DVD. Used in very good condition): $3

All the Star Trek stuff is from the local Goodwill (All the tapes are in good playable order, though one I'm going to attempt to clean because of how dirty the inside is). Also, I need to track down a copy of Volume 2 of .hack//Legend of the Twilight...

I've been posting all of my finds on a semi-regular basis at Wired. I just finished a massive post full of pictures and even went so far as to list the DP Guide value for all of my readers... Maybe I went TOO far.

    Anyway: http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2009/0...end-thrifting/

    I love these threads.

Went garage saling and didn't find much, just:

    DS Game Case- Free
    Empty 35mm Film Reel- .50

The film reel surprised me, since I have been looking for one for ages. It is an authentic reel that looks like it previously had film (people said there used to be film on it). It was originally 1.00, but I offered .50 and the guy took it. I will put it on my wall as decoration.

Didn't find too much today but the price was right.

    Super Mario All-Stars - $1
Star Trek: Federation Compilation (New in big box) - Free
Sim City 2000: Special Edition - Free

I was going to offer a buck or two for the PC games before the guy just said I could take them. Sim City has everything in the box....except for the disc

But there was a copy of C&C Red Alert in there

    Default Yardsales 8-8-09

Boxed NES Action Set With 3x 1st Party Controllers, 1x 3rd Party Controller, A/V Cables, 1st Party System Cleaning Cart & N64 Superpad.

    Games

    Contra
    Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off-Road *
    Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt *
    Wheel of Fortune *

    $18

Got out late (10ish) and found this at the first sale I stopped at that wasen't on my list of sales. Asked about games and this and a boxed Genesis that was only the Genesis 2 & AC Adaptor were brought out. I looked it over offering $5 but that wasen't gonna happened as the guy said he was thinking $25 and gently mentioned something about how he was thinking about keeping it for his kid(s). I offered $15 from $20 and offered to meet him in the middle which he agreed on so I just went ahead and rounded up and gave him $18. Games with a * came with a slip cover.

The guy told me I could get a replacement AC Adaptor at GameStop, I've gotten this a few times at yardsales and everytime I have to politely explain that they haven't carried older stuff like this in ages lol.

Q*Bert (PSX, No Manual), 2 different Playstation Code Books - .75
Bo Jackson: Two Games In One (GB) - .25

2 different sales, they actually lowered the price for me on Q*Bert from a buck to .50 and the books were .10 each but I thanked them and said I didn't need the change.

For Bo Jackson, asked about games lady said she had some but after 5+ minutes came out with a brick gameboy and this in it saying that she couldn't find the rest. I wasen't interested really but she asked me if I wanted the game at least and I offered .25. She was kind of surprised that I wasen't really willing to offer a buck at least but I kindly explained that I would probably never play it as it's a sports game and she ended up just saying I could have it for .25.

    Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko
    Robotron X
    Roll Away

    $1.50

IAP was A Buck each took $1.50 for all three, all complete.

Sonic The Hedgehog Book - .05

Asking .25 but easily took the last of my silver change in a nickel

Dragon Warrior III (GBC) - $1-2

I got this with a Beyond The Far Side book for $2 total so I figured about a buck and change of that was for the game. Offered a buck for both (from $3 & .75) and countered with $2. This was pretty late also, probably about 1:30ish.

Sega Saturn (Model 1) With original 1st Party Controller, 3rd Party Controller, Iron Storm In The System! & 1st Party PS2 Controller

    $3

It was really late in the day when I found this stuff (probably about 2) at an unadvertised sale on one of the main streets downtown. Younger girl running the sale asked $2 for the system & I offered $3 with the PS2 controller added in.

No Saturn games in sight just some PS1 games at this sale but I was happy with what was inside as I don't have Iron Storm but do have a manual I got free at a yardsale about 4 years ago. I hope the system works especially being a Model 1 (my Model 1 I got new when the Saturn first came out acts up) but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't as it is rather dirty.

Thanks for mentioning this as I was wondering where they came from. They had a TON of glasses at this sale and I figured they were from a fast food joint as I recognized some of the other ones from McDonnalds that they had (Flintstones & Garfield). These were the only Pac-Man ones they had.

Also nice find on the Turbo Express Damaramu.

Thanks! I found it sitting amongst old blenders, toasters, and phones at the very back of the store in the "electronics" section. I almost didn't go back there cause I've never really find anything good. Glad I did this time.

Today was an excellent day. Other than the two small finds I listed earlier (Star Trek Starfleet Academy for PC and Alien 3 for Genesis for 2 bucks each) I came home to find a package on my doorstep. It was shipped in an original Xbox box and taped like crazy. After getting it open I realized it was the Sega Master System I had won on eBay, however thanks to some convenient mixups I ended up getting it for free. Yay for clerical errors. It came with two controllers, AC adapter, RF and AV cables, and the following games:

    After Burner
    Bomber Raid
    Cyborg Hunter
    Double Dragon
    Hang On/Safari Hunt
    R-Type
    Rampage

My first Master System so I'm pretty excited about it.

    Friday & Saturday Finds:

Picked up 4 NES boxes for a buck apiece from behind the counter of a used game store

8 PSX games for a buck each at a rummage

JVC Genny controller, GBC Frogger, GBC Pokemon (complete) $1.99 each at Goodwill

Xbox Spiderman $1.99 and XBOX360 sampler disc .99 at another Goddwill

And finally a post on CAG alerted me to the fact that the Best Buy in Brookfield had a bunch of games stickered at 50% off. Got Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway Collector’s Edition for $19.99 (was marked $49.99, but rang at $39.99) and Scene it 2 for $9.99. Still a bunch of 50% off games there for the Milwaukee crowd.

GAH! If they've got anymore i'd love one. Will gladly pay a bit extra for the time and travel+ shipping (for either Scene it or Brothers In Arms). Let me know!

I usually don't post in the "finds" section unless I get a really GOOD find....
I pick up games all the time, and there's no point in listing everytime I get a Sega game at a yard sale for a buck, or buy the latest new release at EB Games.
That said, this week I had a FIND:

Found this bag at my local charity thrift. Couldn't really tell what was in it, because everything was piled together tightly in a heap. Looked like transformers bits and pieces, and for $3.75, I'd take a chance. But after taking everything out, and putting everything back together, I realized what I had:

    2 Blitzwings with weapons
    Complete Topspin + Twintwist
    Complete Fastlane + Cloudraker
    Inferno with some accessories
complete Thundercracker (cockpit is damaged, but I have an extra chassis to switch out)
And the grail: COMPLETE PREDAKING...ALL WEAPONS O.o

Keeping Predaking because he is AWESOME...rest will probably be up for grabs.
There's also a Jet-boat type 'transformer' (back right) in red/yellow/black. I don't know what this is. I thought that it's a knock off, but it's stamped "®Tomy Japan". Any Ideas?

also, silly old Pac-Man ceramic pencil holder $1.45

I checked late this morning, but sadly those games were gone. Once something gets posted in this neck of the woods, it tends to go fast.

I hit the flea market today and took my wife and grandson along. Lately I have only had good luck when my wife has been with me. Maybe because we go later on those days, but I digress. Only picked up one item and it is not game related. I got a VHS tape of the unaired pilot episode (3 versions) of the US version of Red Dwarf. I only paid 50 cents for it. I got it from the woman who usually has a lot of pre-order goodies on her table. She had some demos and stuff, but nothing I wanted.
