That's the first one! But, it does have a back lit screen. You can't adjust the brightness though.

there is another one? Is the screen bright enough without having to adjust it? basically is this thing worth 25 bucks?

$25 is tempting, but those units typically have backwards buttons (even though that photo shows the buttons in the correct position, I wouldn't trust it) which makes play downright impossible on certain games (Super Mario Bros, Punch Out, etc.).

If you're interested in one of these - go with the FC Mobile II.

The build quality is superior, the buttons are in the correct position and in addition to the AV out - it includes a set of (IR) wireless controllers, a Zapper and, most importantly an AC adapter.

I hear that users have made a 100% LINUX operating system for them that can run superior versions of all of the on-board emulators and MAME w/most roms (up to about Marvel Vs. Capcom) running full speed with sound.

WOW thanks Frankie on the heads up on the buttons. That would totally mess me up. The other units are a bit out of my price range. I'd want it just as a cool novelty, not for any serious use, but I'd still want the games to control properly.
