Nintendo Display Video Compact Flash Card

In my continuing escapades of vendors letting me have stuff they're supposed to recover I have yet another query. This here...



...is a CF card that Nintendo uses along with a cheapy little CF card reader in some of its store displays (the ones that just loop game videos over and over again). Nothing special about it other than the label marking it as a Nintendo display part, for Quarter 2, 2009 Version 1. The card itself contains a single .mpg video file, just shy of 900MB, super high quality as one would assume. The videos are like Mario Power Tennis rerelease, second Professor Layton game, DSi promo, Wii Internet connection overview, ExciteBots, etc.

As with most Nintendo display things, they are expected to be retained by the vendors and sent back to Nintendo. Anyway...

I'm assuming that these cards are recovered, sent back to Nintendo, have the video file changed out, are restickered and then sent back out to vendors for store insertion.

Any ideas on value? Worst case scenario, it's a free 1GB CF card.

Hmm I'd say maybe $20-$30? I don't know how much demand there would be on this one. I have a couple of these types of memory cards for PSP kiosks.

At the very least, rip the video and see if you can encode it down to a more manageable size before selling it.

my nintendo rep was awesome till she moved to the corporate office. she use to bring me all types of cool things (ie. a huge mario party 7 lollipop of mario, legend of zelda gold pin, pikmin things, ) but the coolest things i use to get where the gamecube demo discs with the case. i have about 7 of them including the last one ever made. lately though the new rep has been fairwether and not so nice

I won't be doing that. In this case that to me is like making a duplicate of a game and then selling the original.
