It sounds like a scam to me. I would ignore him and wait for another buyer.

There is 0% legitimate about that mail. It looks like a form mail from an automated scambot. It doesn't even mention what he's trying to buy.

It looks like something that might come as a spam posting on my blog, 100.00000000% not a real offer.

Its very simple when it comes to CL and Kijiji. There is one rule you MUST obey at all times:

Sell locally and deal in cash only.

    That is all.

PS - This has scam written all over it. Don't fall for it, don't send any info, delete the email and move on with your life.

definitely a scam, I get these all time and I just tell em to go suck it. If you look at the header in the email it comes from an invalid ip.

They're too poor to afford it. Thats why they're trying to scam people, so they can afford spell check.

No legitimate buyer would offer $100 extra for giving them the sale, especially considering the price of a NEW 360.

Any talk about banks, sending someone else to pick it up, or the "moving my mover" would be reason enough to decline.

Usually that's true, but there are times when it could be legit. I had someone from another province want to buy something from me, only I said I don't ship anything. She asked a friend of hers who was near my area to meet with me and buy it for her, and her friend mailed it to her later.

Of course I get a bunch of fake replies to ads, usually if they're like "I'm interested in whatever it is you're selling, email me back" then I know it's fake. I've had someone reply saying they wanted to buy my games and to phone them. I emailed and asked which games they wanted and got a reply of "Pokemon Ranger" and was asked again to phone them. I was selling GBA games, the only Pokemon games I listed were Fire Red and Leaf Green. I just deleted the emails and didn't reply again.

Thats fine because you're still dealing with someone locally and getting cash. Whatever arrangment her and her friend has is between them, but the point still remains that, whoever it is, deal locally, in person, and with cash only.

Definitely only deal in person and with cash, no shipping or other forms of payment(unless you're trading with someone, like game for game, but you can't always be sure it's working beforehand). I was mostly replying towards the "sending someone else to pick it up" part, that's what the other person did with me and the person who picked it up paid me.

Sounds like automated spam, but it looks more like somebody trolling for a mark (i.e. place to steal stuff from). Both are bad.

yep, it's a total scam. i can spot them pretty easily. i ship orders out all the time from craigslist and haven't been burned yet. then again i will not ship out of the country or accept checks (only money order, paypal, or cash). of course i would prefer to meet in person, but if they are across the state line from me then i would rather ship than lose the sale.

I've only shipped once for a Craigslist ad, thankfully it went well.

    That's definitely a scam.

I've shipped stuff for craigslist and bought stuff from other cities and its always worked. You can tell it is legit if the email is from something like hotmail or yahoo that is legit sounding, seller mentions specific item etc.
